  1. I wouldn't underestimate America. A victory is even more likely when you consider that they're playing England.

  5. Good chance for Uruguay to beat France tonight. And I can see USA beat England. England isn't in great shape lately.

    They may not be pound for pound better than England but individual players don't count for much. The vast majority of the American players have played at a high level of football so I wouldn't want to underestimate them.

    Anyone old enough to remember Italia 90? England vs. Cameroon? France 98, Romania vs. England? Japan/Korea against Nigeria?

    All games when we were expected to win against teams that perhaps had players that were not of a standard that the current USA squad is at. (Though Romania and countries around that area have always been solid teams).

    Argentina have players of a higher quality than the England side but I wouldn't say that as a team they were better since under Maradona (particularly noticeable throughout qualifying) they're pretty woeful.
  8. I just don't see England as a team. Maybe it's because I see them all pay against each other week in week out. They just lack something. On paper they should be up there but I can't find the word to describe them. Something's missing

    Yeh I've always seen that too, they don't gel together at all as a team.

    Completely agree. The current England team just can't play together in a team.
