  1. I think if Slovenia score first, it'll provide a much needed kick in the arse and England may come out on top. However if England score first, then they may get a bit complacent.

    Kind of wanting to see the qualifiers drawn out of a hat lol, how cruel would that be? England would have to draw 2-2 and USA draw 0-0 to acheive that situation.

    can that really happen? it should go on time infront or sumthing if goal diff and goals scored r all the same

  6. 5. The ranking of each team in each group will be determined as follows:
    a) greatest number of points obtained in all group matches; (would be equal on 3)
    b) goal difference in all group matches; (would be equal at 0)
    c) greatest number of goals scored in all group matches. (would be equal at 2-2 and 0-0 draw)

    If two or more teams are equal on the basis of the above three criteria, their
    rankings will be determined as follows:
    d) greatest number of points obtained in the group matches between the
    teams concerned; (would be equal at 1)
    e) goal difference resulting from the group matches between the teams
    concerned; (would be equal at 0)
    f) greater number of goals scored in all group matches between the teams
    concerned; (would be equal at 1)
    g) drawing of lots by the FIFA Organising Committee. (Woo!)

    EDIT: That's just if england have a score draw with Slovenia by 2 goals more that USA (if they draw). So 2-2 and 0-0 would have the above outcome, 3-3 and 1-1 would also have above outcome

    England/Algeria out, USA/Slovenia through as it stands.

    Slovenia 0-1 England
    Algeria/USA out, England/Slovenia through

    USA 0-0 Algeria
    Slovenia 0-1 England

    USA/Algeria out, Slovenia/England through
  10. Forgive me, I haven't been following this too much and I'm not sure what you're meaning with the "out" and "through" parts...who's going to win and who's going to lose? Though I figure that's not it since you're pegging both teams playing each other to win, if that's the case, which is of course impossible...

    Out - Meaning that they won't qualify for the next round and will therefore be out of the competition

    Through - Meaning that they are through to the next round of the competition.

    So at the moment it's Slovenia/England (Both team qualifying for next round) whilst USA and Algeria are going home. Though many USA fans may feel hard done by.

    Coming up to the hour mark and things are still the same. USA and Algeria are out, whilst England and Slovenia are through. Still 30 minutes to play though.

    Oh, okay..so just because you lose doesn't mean you're not through to the next round, it's moreso points-based, am I right?
