  3. 3/5 review from The Guardian. Too long with too many sounds. I'm going to wait until release.
  4. The most comprehensive album review Guardian have posted in a while. I never listen to streams or as Arcade Fire are calling it, 'album teaser' - just tampers with album sales. People listen to it then think it isn't worth purchasing. I'll probably wait until the album is released, purchase it and then listen to it.
  5. IT'S HAPPENING. THIS IS NOT A DRILL!

So far I'm loving it, I'm on Night Time and I'm too used to that version from the SNL video.
  6. I love Arcade Fire and their first three albums. Listening to the youtube full album now. I haven't listened to the SNL stuff much (once in full maybe) or anything else that might be out

    My opinions:

Reflektor - too long and drawn out, should be shorter, over produced and sounds like they are trying to hard to make something here
We Exist - i like it but there are some moments where there are too many sounds and instruments
    Flashbulb Eyes - no thanks
Here Comes the Night Time - no thanks too much noise
Normal Person - talking clapping and an awful feedback noise at intro no thanks, i like the rest, sounds like it could be best track on the album for me (suburbs outtake injected with some rock?)
You Already Know - someone introducing band/song at intro, i love the rest of it
Joan of Arc - arcade fire's version of punk music as the intro, i like the start but it is so long and the random noises are enough to put me off, seems like they are trying to make an electronic, indie take of Shine On You Crazy Diamond or something, just doesn't work for me
Night Time II - i like some of it, but like coldplay's atlas, doesn't build into what it should for me
Awful Sound - intro reminds me a little of Breathe, nice track
Never Over - no thanks, too electronic for me, bland track
Porno - not my cup of tea
Afterlife - here comes the night time I part II?
Supersymmetry - shine you crazy diamond rip off part II?

What the fuck are they trying to make with this record? Some indie-rock opera with joint songs?

I like (at least parts of) most of the songs, but they are trying to sound too indie and do too much. Overproduced and some weird ideas. Too many random sounds in a lot of the songs, crowd noises, clapping etc, gets a little much eventually for me. A lot of the song introductions are bizarre and are pointless, again, trying too hard

Normal Person, You Already Know, Awful Sound are the tracks that I dig.

Overall right now it easily sits at the bottom of Arcade Fire's best albums for me. Sounds pretentious and over produced. Just too many sounds and random noises, and the album is far too long. It goes on and on at some points.
  7. I'm really loving the stream with the movie Black Orpheus playing! It's so perfect with the music, they must have thought that out because how the Hell can such a thing happen!!?!

    Epic. Album.
  8. Definitely reminds me of Achtung Baby, serious band takes of their shoes for dancing ones.
  9. Listened through once. Quite possibly the best album I've ever heard.
