that is really well put! So true
  2. I ran to Stingray today and it was awesome.

I'd like to think I came about it a more intelligent way than posting "Stingray sucks!"

Exactly, I have no idea why people think it's the best thing since sliced bread - it's like they're hearing a completely different intro.

Though, as long as there's agreement that it's simple and doesnt go anywhere I'm fine with people liking it. I was just wondering what all the fuss was about.
  4. Well, I think Stingray is a great opener because it was made to open the show. It's certainly not their best piece of music, but it's still great as an opener.

    +1

I can make you a (longer than most people think) list of U2 songs that use just 2 chords...

Stingray is simple (way too simple, maybe) and probably one of their weaker instrumental songs, but... who gives a damn? It's just another way of opening the show, and at least it's played almost live. I'm sure I will enjoy it in the show I will attend in two weeks (two weeks, this is crazy! it feels like Barcelona was 3 months ago, not 15)
  7. I don't think Stingray needs to be a strong tune as an opener. Most people are looking forward to the next song and the older ones that go to a U2 show. I'd love it to be an opener to an EP or something had it be worked on a bit more - at the moment it's got a cool sound to it but not much else.

Is there a good chance of it being used to open the Australian shows?

I don't think they'll radically change the shows, so I think YES
  9. The only reason I can put up with Stingray is because when hearing it, the show is finally starting, after hours of waiting.

    Agree!
  11. Said I didnt like North Star, but the fake fullband on youtube is pretty haunting
  12. Indeed, that's a really good job! It really sounds like Original Of The Species, I like it. Hope the real version (if it's published one day) will be as good as this. The work on EBW sounds nice too.
