    I mean just look at how many famous physicists there are versus famous chemists

    Lets see, off the top of my head - famous chemists? Louis Pasteur, Alfred Nobel.

    Famous physicists: Galileo, Pascal, Newton, Watt, Faraday, Kelvin, Maxwell, Tesla, Planck, the Curies, Rutherford, Marconi, Einstein, Bohr, Pauli, Fermi, Heisenberg, Feynman, Bohr, Geiger, Hawking.
