1. I've just came across an very interesting trade page full of u2 bootlegs

all concerts are in very good quality, and some versions are really really rare.
for example when you enter the page you can listen to a short example of a
soundboard(!!!) recording from the 2005-07-02 vienna concert.

This guy has strict trade rules (but you can see by yourself) and those rare bootlegs
he only trades when he gets a certain concert which he wants

conclusion: it is very hard to get some stuff from him

but i wanted to post the page, so that you can see which versions of concerts are
circulating, and maybe one of you guys can give him what he wants and will therefore
get one of his bootlegs (for example the vienna soundboard recording )

  2. It's a shame such wonderfull recordings are somewhere on this planet and probably never see the daylight on sites like U2start.

    true words
  4. Awesome collection, IEM recordings of Rome, Wien, Milan, Chorzow of the 2nd leg Vertigo tour
  5. Don't believe everything someone claims to have...

    Well, he's got samples.
  7. can anyone tell me where you normally get a soundboard and especially an iem recording from?
from a technician of the u2 staff?

i think he's an austrian because most bootlegs (in red, those he doesn't trade) are recorded in austria, also great bootlegs from other artists.

i can understand when he has a perfect dat recording, which as it seems, he recorded by himself but where the hell did he get the iem and soundboardrecordings from, i can't believe it

  8. It's a real pity that this guy doesn't want to share his bootlegs --- if not by *selling* some of them. I find this morally quite bad (it's not *his* music after all).

He's got only one, to be specific. And that doesn't mean too much...

Don't get me wrong, I don't say that this guy is a liar. It's possible that he has these IEMs. I just suggest to be a little sceptical of people...

And if these IEMs do exist (and I guess they do) - don't worry too much that they're kept rare - from what I know about the IEMs of the first 4 VT nights, only the 2nd night LA is very good quality, the others contain some static...

Even the circulated, like Anaheim, Vancouver or Saitama sound painful on my ears...

Yeah you're right, IEM's are not that great indeed. But I'll take any IEM recording instead of no recording of a show
  11. Karl doesnt trade with anyone. He likes to post his stuff on his page to look impressive. Most of his "rare" stuff isnt all that great IMO. His list isnt THAT impressive either. Trust me.

There are recordings of each of these shows available. You guys like audience recordings anyway over any type of board recording even IEM. So whats the big deal here??

I will say that Japanese IEM that was bootlegged professionally is pathetic. I actually do prefer the audience recording of that one over that IEM. It IS painful to listen to. Remastering butcher job basically.

Yeah the audience recording of Saitama III is much better to listen to. I think everyone prefers an excellent audience recording over any soundboard. Exceptions for radio/TV broadcasts or bootlegs of below average quality, I do prefer soundboards then.
