1. When I Look At The World and i also think Please is underrated. A defining song for U2 during the 90s imho.
  2. I think all the original non-single songs from "Rattle & Hum" are criminally underrated.

    To list:
    Van Diemen's Land
    Hawkmoon 269
    Love Rescue Me
    Heartland
    God Part II

    All amazing songs, darn it!

    Hear, hear

VDL, God Pt II, Heartland and Hawkmoon are all striking songs and fine examples of their genre.

R&H does not deserve its criminally low rank on U2 album lists, it has a stronger collection of songs than both October and TUF, and IMO even Boy.

  5. How would you define underrated?

I would say songs that are rarely or never played live, songs that are not singles or have been on 'Best Ofs'.
  6. Originally posted by MirrorballBoy:Well, which songs are underrated in your opinion? According to me it's Please. But Bad, Dirty Day, Love is blindness, A Sort of Homecoming and Heartland are quite underrated too.

There are a lot of under-rated songs. One single that seems to have been forgotten is "Two Hearts..." and it's a longtime oldtime favorite.

So whenever a song complies with one of those conditions, it's underrated? Scarlet wasn't a single, never played live, and hasn't been on a compilation album. I still think it's crap. Underrated means it doesn't get the appreciation you think it deserves. So if underrated would be defined as you say it, all songs should be released as singles, be played live on a regular basis, and be on at least one compilation album.

Also, just because a song was a single doesn't mean it can't be underrated. Please was barely played live after the PopMart tour, and you could say that because it didn't rank so high on the charts, it didn't get the appreciation you think it deserves.

Obviously the song has to be good, sorry, flippin 'ek didn't think people would get so annoyed about this. Please isn't even that good anyway. There are much better songs like the ones I said, Like a Song..., Heartland etc. Sorry didn't realised. That is what I though under-rated songs were. Obviously the song has to be good for it to be under-rated.

Underrated by U2 or underrated by U2 fans or underrated by everyone?

It's one of the finest tunes ever written...

And underrated by whoever you want lol The topic doesn't mention that
Now we're at it: I feel that Beautiful Day is underrated on this site...loads of people seem to dislike it while it is clearly, to me at least, their best tune...

Ok, I just listened to Please (Single) [Stings Version] and I have to say it was very good, but I don't think it is that underrated mate.

Your'e right about Beautiful Day, it is class. I think U2 fans may have heard it so much they just take it for granted maybe.
