1. hi,
i was looking after documents about Moydrum castle, where U2's album picture cover was taken, and i saw this...
quite strange, i think U2 knew the article when they decide to chose the name, if not, very strange...

    original article
    http://www.mickcoplen.com/History/Moydrum/Moydrum.htm
and in the "For Pictures Click here", read article title on "Paper Clipping.jpg"
  2. Wasn't The Unforgettable Fire named after an exhibition of artwork by survivors of Hiroshima?
  3. i thought, but the original article has got the same title, thats why i found it very strange...
  4. That's really interesting but strange, because they said it's called after the art exhibition, and it would be really a coincidence if they never saw that article before.

Maybe they wanted to relate the cover (with the castle on it) to the title? I had no idea why that castle was put on the cover anyway, so that makes sense (:?), or is that a bit far fetched?
    ....
Now that I think about it, those ruins on the cover and the city of Hiroshima totally destroyed by the atomic bomb: they do have something similar after all
  5. It's just a coincidence, the album was named after the art exhibition
  6. yes, but what a GREAT coincidence...

  7. Not that much - it would be if the castle in the article was slane where they recorded the album.
  8. Interesting!!!!
