Ya but it's not exactly like they can come over here and collect on their debt. Once we're rid of Obama and we get some responsible spending We'll be fine. Operating a national deficit isn't a concern as long as it is a reasonable one. America has successfully functioned with a national deficit for over a hundred years
  3. I'd say that it's bound to strike back eventually though.

China doesnt want a bankrupt USA. China has a huge amount of dollars in stock, to keep the yen low, if the USA gets in to problems the dollar will be less worth, making the yen relatively more expensive which makes Chinese goods unattractive on the US market.

Yes, we do. Yogi was just trying to point out that the world is NOT black and white. Gadafi was a great Occident' friend until 2010, then he became Satan. The same as happened with Saddam Hussein and Ossama Bin Laden in the 80s-90s... They were great friends with the USA and then they became personifications of the purest Evil. But Yogi was just pointing out that, while Gadafi was an absolute bastard and a mass murder for years, he did also good things for his country and some of his people. And the occidental countries always avoided to look on those horrible things until last year, when they decided to avoid looking at the good. Hypocresy.

True. Libyan people have no idea what's in front of them. While they were one of the richest countries in Africa, I bet that they will be one of the poorest in just a few years.

They were rich because Gaddafi didn't let anyone to fuck with him. They didn't let big western corporations to run their country. Yes, he was mass murderer, but noone points out these days that this revolutionaries already killed hundreds of civilians. Yes, civilians.

And he was killed after he was caught. So, there will be no fair trial, nothing. Even with that, new people are showing that they're no better than Gaddafi was.

Yes, but USA continues to function because nobody in the world wouldn't want USA to collapse because that would mean collapse of the whole world. In economic aspect, of course.

To pay off the debt completely something truly radical would have to change, brutally radical. It's always mystery to me how people think that the system works and yet everyone is in debt. I mean - everyone. It just doesn't work. And, Aaron, please, stop with this commie shit, we get it.
  7. Impressive voter turnout in Tunisia
  8. Yep ~50% - impressive. And even more impressive result. Always good to see extremists win. So glad the people there are free now. Also good news from the new free Libya: sharia as basis for new legislation.
  9. You know, us western democracies' constitutions use the bible as basis.

Their first election ever, and they almost beat the U.S. in voter turnout.
  10. See, that's the problem. No matter if it's the bible, quran or the book of Moe. I find it dangerous if a constitution is based on religion (not to mention that Afghanistan was bombed to stone age because of "sharia" used there). There's a chance missed to get a secular state and to make a cut from the evil Ghaddaffi.

I for one find ~50% pretty disappointing for a "first election", but that's up for discussion I guess.
  11. I agree with you on that religion shouldn't be the basis for a constitution, was just pointing out that we're just as bad.
  12. Eehhh no, Holland's constitution is not based on the bible at all. And I have no reason to believe all other western countries are different in this.
