    Well...you guys know me, I'm definitely not a leftie, I love the free market system, I'm not a conservative, I am part of the green movement in Iran...
    I have no enemies in my mind...I don't consider one country to be at fault for everything going on in the world. No country is good or evil, they all have good and evil actions. It's a world where every government is working to secure their national (or in corrupt cases, personal) interest.
    The more power that country has, the scarier their tactics will become.
    Take the government running my country right now...it might not be in their interest to have the republicans be the majority in the US congress...but they can't do anything about it either. Their power is limited. But they have the power to support Hezbollah and Hamas, and as it is in THEIR PERSONAL interest to keep the ME tense and conflicted, they do so.

    About the US and the UK...just like any other country, they use their power to secure their national interest...as it they are probably the most powerful countries, their actions can hurt other countries more. I'm not going to comment on anything I don't know about, as I too believe that you can't just trust what you hear these days. I'm only going with what I know about my country and it's history...

    In 1953, the US and UK intelligence agencies orchestrated a coup in my country. Dr. Mosaddeq was the prime minister at that time. He was democratically elected, very popular and a great man with great knowledge. What was his problem? He nationalized our oil industry. Until then our oil industries' profits were going mostly to the British as they were the ones with the rights to extract from our oil fields. Mosaddeq made it so that the profits would go to the Iranians.

    It's as simple as that, something that most of you would take for granted...we didn't have that right back then, and Mosaddeq was trying to fix it.
    The UK started economical boycotts against us, and then, once they saw that the PM is too popular to be defeated with boycotts, they caused a coup with the US's help.

    This was all of course in their national interest. But to us, it was evil...they overthrew our only true democratic government, probably the greatest leader this country ever had in the last century, so that they could keep making their profit from OUR oil fields.

    That coup made the Shah a complete dictator, and this lasted for more than 25 years, until the Islamic Revolution happened...and now, 30 years after that revolution, we still have no democracy, we still have problems...I can't stop thinking what would have happened if that coup had not taken place...maybe our country was completely democratic and more secular by now and we would be a good member of the international community. Less problems for everyone.

    Anyway...looong post, sorry, this is a very important issue for me and whenever I start talking about it...
    And it is not a fake or made up story, the CIA documents related to the coup have already been released. Now you can see why many people in my country can't trust the US and the UK.

    Iran is also an interesting case. Even more because there are rumors that it might be next on the USA/UK list.

    Those two countries always tend to do a lot of wierd stuff knowing that they call themselves 'democratic'. It's well known for example that they were selling fuel to fascist dictator Franco in Spain during WWII while in the same time they were fighting nazis and fascists. It's all about money, nothing else.

    There are also people that think that Africa is in that bad situation because of UK. In their ex colonies they finance both governments and opositions so that the conflicts lasts forever.

    It's almost funny to me when people like Blair/Brown, Obama and Sarkozy complain about the fact that Iran might be developing nuclear weapons while in the same time each one of those countries have enough weapons of mass destruction to destroy the whole planet.

    We didn't critisize your decision not to go to college, but your REASONS. Going to college is always a good thing, and don't give up on that.
