And Aaron, I doubt anyone really considers that an excuse to piss on a dead body.

You can't blame George anymore. Obama had a chance to end this farce and he didn't. For me, he's the same as Bush was. Just look what's happening last few days in Israel and Kuwait because of Iran.

That wasn't what you were saying in your post either. You were making it sound like it was all of the U.S.'s decision, and especially the military.

Oh, and BTW, you should read my post again, I was saying it was Bush's decision to go to war, and it was.

Obama and Bush the same? Really? Which countries did Obama invade again? Libya? No, wouldn't call it that.
  3. I don't want to takes sides with the US Military (I assume that's who we're talking about), but in a war situation, where life is unimaginably tough and you've seen comrades fall, you're bound to act a little inhuman towards the enemy when you finally come into contact with them. Of course, conventions, acts and ethics are all there for a reason but in a situation we can't even begin to imagine, all of those must be tested to some extent.

I can sit here and say that urinating on the enemy is wrong but then again, I haven't been to war, fought in a tough environment against a seemingly elusive opponent and lost friends in battle. In the shoes of someone who has been there, I guess it all comes down to the mentality of the soldier. I'm sure they don't sign up to simply humiliate other humans.

Farce? Could it be that Obama took office and then learned a few things about this 'farce'? He didnt end it because he had an "oh shit Bush was right" moment.
  5. Or could it be that you can't just suddenly walk out of a war, because that would be catastrophic?

How was he right? US army went to Iran to search for weapons of mass destruction. There were no weapons of mass destruction. USA also claimed that Saddam was linked to Al'Qaeda. They were not. But anyway, 110.000 civilians are now dead. How the fuck was he right?

Of course it is catastrophic. There are already terrorist acts in Baghdad and all over the Iran. There are clashes in Libyja where people are dying every day. USA promised to establish democracy in Iraq and all they established is just chaos and country in ruins.

Not to mention Afghanistan where Taliban forces are as strong as they were before US army came there. Afghanistan is a new Vietnam for USA.

Guy promised to close Guantanamo. He didn't. And now Libya, Syria and Iran. And he won Nobel prize for peace. Gimme a break. He did for peace as much as Bush did, so there it is. I really liked Obama when he was elected but now I see that he doesn't want or just can't change anything.
  9. Oh, what did Obama do to Syria?

    Blame the US for everything.

Nothing yet, but I guess that you read/watch news and there probably will be some kind of military action.

Well, seeing the situation there, I'm starting to think there should be.

Also, you should remember that France and the U.K. were the ones pushing for military action in Libya, not the U.S.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. France has the most of Libyan blood on its hands, but U.S. also took part in bombings that killed tens of thousands of people. Not to mention countries, it's NATO's bloodshed...

BTW there will be referendum about entering EU on weekend here in Croatia. Any advices? : ))
