I don't think we've yet to come up with something better than democracy, and I doubt that we ever will. It's not perfect. But it's the closest.

Earlier, a parliamentary committee issued a petition for summoning the president – the first such case since 1979. Ahmadinejad will be asked about foreign and domestic policy decisions and allegedly bypassing a special budget for the Tehran subway and public transportation. After the summons is sent to the president, he should attend a parliament meeting within a month.

You think that something like that could happen even in Russia, which is democracy? Putin could sit in car and kill 50 people driving over them and he wouldn't face a trial.
