America must have a lot of dumb people then as the Libertarians have only ever had one electoral vote (Roger MacBride).
It was in 1972. He was a former Republican![]()

maybe you don't give a damn about what i wanted to let you know.
In both cases i apologize.
Anyway, here i go :
Belgium has recently broken the European 'record' for most days to form a government.
It has been 213 days since the elections and we're still without a government.
Last record was Holland in 1977 with 208 days, the world record is for Iraq (248) days and i bet we'll even 'break' that one too...
That are just some figures of course. Fact is that i live in a very small country, where Flemings (Dutch speaking) and Walloons (French speaking) can't agree on ridiculous things, politicians slowly lead their county into a downward spiral and more and more people would like to split up the country (the party that won the elections, N-VA, is favor of an independent Flanders).
Imo, this situation, which has actually begun years ago, is ridiculous and embarassing.
Because it seems like many other countries are worried about the situation here, i was wondering if that's true : is this in the media where you live and if so, what do they actually say and/or what do you think about it (compared to your own situation) ?
Because i heard some countries already reported we were preparing for a civil war, but that is still exagerated.

Tbh, I dont see how / why Belgium should continue to exist in this form. Just draw a border, split governments and go. Or maybe make 2 states in Belgium. Anyway, no sense in continueing talking when everybody is tired of the other side.
Originally posted by LikeASong:Yes I'm aware of the Belguim situation and I have to admit: it's embarrasing. They should have set up new elections when negotiations started to go downlhill and no agreement was on sight... It would have been better. Because there's no way out, Flemings' and Walloons' leaders are too hot-headed to agree on anything, much less on a government agreement. No way...
Welcome to the politics discussion, Glenn

Jes, few days ago I was listening to radio news and heard about that infamous record breaking, that situation is complicated, but nobody was mentioning civil war and things like that.
Bad things are happening in Hungary too, conservative government there wants to take control over media, like in totalitarist systems.

Has to be said that the decision to split the country was mainly the politicians' will, though (there was not even a referendum held).
