1. You're probably not the only unemployed person who does. Social security is a good thing.

  2. But a commonly misued thing.
  3. Large numbers of people get it who dont need it.

To be fair I technically dont get it. I live with my grandmother who gets it, but I think most will agree she earned it.

Course the small towns are what make this state great imo.

Most Iranians in the US are in California, specially Los Angels and San Francisco. I've got an uncle there, works in silicon valley if you ever wish to visit
Thanks Chris and Olof! Have to consider Netherlands too I guess

On the death penalty, I'm not a fan.

    Religion-wise, the Quran says:
"...If anyone kills a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he killed all people. And if anyone saves a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all people"

In the following verses it is said that the family of a murder victim have the right to request the death penalty for the murderer (this is one short verse). The next few verses tho try to convince the family of the victim to forgive the murderer and not request the death penalty (if they forgive him, they are saving a life, which as said before, is like saving the life of all people).

All this said, I still don't like it even if the family decide to do it.
  6. The holy Quran, opposedly to what most occidental people believe, is a big big source of wisdom.

  7. Yep, this is the misunderstanding that I talked about. The so called "islamic" terrorists have it wrong too, just this verse tells you that if you even kill one person you are killing the whole humanity...why would you fly a plane into a building then?!

There are a few campaigns going on in the middle east trying to teach less educated muslims that Islam is against violence. Campaigns like Say No To Terror:
they have some ads based on poor arabic neighborhoods (where these people are usually located/recruited) which end up with showing a verse of the quran that is against terror. And then it says: Terror: I'm a muslim, I'm against it.

Because you want to kill all of humanity?

...calling these people "islamists" is of course wrong. "Islam" means submission to god. And that is obviously not what they're doing.

That is probably the reason. And yes, that is exactly right!
