    Or like Sergio said, have fun teaching your kids how to read and write on your own instead of putting them in a public school.

    They government does more good than gets discussed on here. The truth is that it's too easy to point out the bad things, because they stick out like sore thumbs compared to the ritualistic things the American government does to better the lives of the people. It's utterly naive and downright stupid to suggest that nothing good comes from the government, and we could quite frankly list probably 50 things that you're not so "self reliant" on in your day-to-day life. Stop being immature and so radical about every belief you possess. It's fine to believe in something; it doesn't mean you need to choke it to its absolute death and advertise that it encompasses your life.

    You blowing my beliefs out of context. I have no problemn, with the government providing education, and emergency services. What I do have a problemn with is some lazy fat fuck who just wants to sit home all day, and do crystal meth, because the govenrment will pay for his food, and housing, and the brain-damaged little basterds he makes. Meanwhile, me, and the majority of decent people in this country slave like fucking dogs all day, paying for him to be able to sit on his ass all day.

    You want to live in a nanny state, thats fine. As for me, I'll make my own way.

    That's great, congratulations! (not being ironic, I really mean it). I also learnt how to read and write from my mother and auntie, and at a pretty early age.

    Problem with Aaron, he may have learnt to read but he didn't learn to SPELL at a young age and still really can't get it.
  9. In the UK there's indeed a difference between "learned" and "learnt", but American English only uses "learned" actually.
    I'm not kidding, look it up.
