1. Seeing as I'm not a Catholic, that tweet means nothing to me, and full disclosure, everyone hates WBC(who last, I checked, ain't killed anyone). Why is it that the second, anyone brings up the threat of Islamist terror, they get accused of racism, automatically? I'm among the first to stand up for Muslims in general, when someone tries to lump them all together, but I have no issues calling Islamist terror what it is.
  2. Since when in modern times did God or Jesus preach to kill in their name?

Alright, that's great, you can start with this guy:

Cause that to me sounds like he's blaming the religion and not the terrorist.

Terrorism has its roots in extremist views, views on anything, be that any religions or political ideology. Just do a Google search for Catholic Terror and you'll find examples of that too.

I don't mind anyone bringing up the threat of "Islamist terror" as long as the threat is considered to be the terror and extremism and not Islam and all Muslims or people of Islamic descent in general.
Same goes for all other religious/political views that some extremists terrorize people in their name.
  4. What you fail to realize, is I have no qualms being an asshole, to get a point across.
  5. Tell you what, I'll start giving the majority of Muslims, the benefit of the doubt, when the left stops vilifying millions of legal gun owners, for the acts of a few crazy people, who usually did not even acquire their weapons legally, and stops trying (unsucessfully) to tie conservatives, to every single tragedy. When they do that, I'll extend Muslims the same courtesy.
  6. Well, if you have issues with the left you should "extend the same courtesy" to them...not Muslims and Muslim descendants.
  7. The left, and Muslims have aligned themselves with each other. Its like people assuming, I'm a drug dealer, cause I hang out with drug dealers. If I cared, if people thought I was a drug dealer, I would stop hanging with drug dealers.
  8. Nice job there comparing the left to drug dealers.
I believe you do understand that your argument of "extending the courtesy" to Muslims is irrational and unfair and you're just being an "asshole" to "get a point across".

However, just to be clear, if you vilify Muslims you are not only hurting the ones living in the US. They are only 0.2% of all Muslims in the world.
The ones who do get hurt the most are the majority of Muslims who live elsewhere, especially those who have recently immigrated or are about to immigrate to the west (many of them are not even religious and are just Muslim descendants) just to escape the terrible situation in this region...just like the Irish did during the famine.
  9. You took my metaphor a bit to litreally dude. I was just pointing out, that people are judged by their associations.

  10. But Muslim's probably the most. Nobody judged all Christians or white people when Breivik killed people, or when the Ku Klux Klan did.

And if you get mad when all gun owners are judged, shouldn't you start with bettering yourself?
  11. How can I better myself anymore than I am, at this time? I have compromised my values, to go to college, on the gov's dime, I work out at least twice a week, and I haven't wanted to assault any idiots/assholes in over 3 months.

  12. I got that, that's why I said you're trying to make a point in your own way
You do have a point about all gun owners being judged the same by some people. That is terrible and I have actually argued with people here (not the forums, here in Iran) who do it.

I agree with Olof tho, about Muslims being a victim of this the most...and I was trying to say that this has a much bigger effect on their lives than it has on other groups that are being judged by their associations.
