1. If Dafy's shizz is so fantasticly clear wouldn't it be much easier to just abuse his matrix? :S

  2. No, in fact Dafy's matrix is not that clear. It sounds great but lacks the definition that a bit more of IEM in the mix would have given. It sounds like a very good soundboard or an excellent audience. Freak was preparing his own matrix with more IEM in the mix, and therefore the result will be a cleaner matrix than Dafy's.

  3. Yes I know but still it seems to me Dafy's made half the job for him already. Just balance more IEM into the matrix.

  4. Do you know anything about audio editing and/or matrix making?
  5. Hardly.

I know you can take a matrix and remaster/edit it...

  6. That's frankly stupid if you have the original sources and can mix them yourself.
  7. I've just listened to the Walk on sample - OMG it sounds f'''g brilliant... Almost like a pro recording

  8. Why if some nerd's already done the shitwork for you?

  9. A matrix is a downmix of multiple tracks. In the end you just got 1 track, no Bono Track, no Adam Track, etc. Just some very nice sequence of samples. Of course you can do some tricks like EQ and Compression, but that wont help much.

You want to tweak the balance between the multiple tracks? You will need the individual tracks. So unless that 'nerd' as you called ups his complete multitrack project there is not much someone else can use.

I'd advice you to not say anything you dont know anything about. You only embarras yourself Same goes for me so will stfu my self
  10. Well said Chris. I just didn't want to explain the whole multitrack project bla bla etc etc stuff... But well said.

I am not worried by embarrassment. I'm asking straightforward, motivated questions. It is irrelevant whether I know everything in this regard or not.

Thank you for your answers though, my fellow U2-lovers.

I've understood exactly so much, but you take the "finished" matrix and then take the individual tracks in order to balance it. What you stated above doesn't imply in anyway why that would not be viable.
