1. Don't know if there was already any discussion on this song here on u2start.

Zucchero released new album few weeks ago and one of the songs on it is written by Bono.

    Someone Else's Tears

    You feel familiar
But I’m not sure I know your name
I don’t know why I’m telling you this story today
    A whisper on the breeze
I heard a rustle in the trees
I need to know and maybe you’ll explain
    Why I can’t stop crying
And nothing is as it appears
    I can’t stop crying
But I’m crying someone else’s tears
    Someone else’s tears
    The grapes are gathered
    The wine is pressed
And despite the rain it’s been a good year
    To walk these fields again
In the chapel of our youth we bowed down to beauty and truth
I see no reason but maybe you’ll explain
    Why I can’t stop crying

But I’m crying someone else’s tears
    Someone else’s tears
The red house that we built...
    It’s still standing... proud
    The glasses that we filled...
    Let’s raise them now
    It might be raining
But the sun is gonna burst through the clouds
The storm it can be stilled...
    Let’s go out...

    But I can’t stop crying
As I’m crashing through the gears
    I can’t stop crying
But I’m crying someone else’s tears
    Someone else’s tears
    I can’t stop lying
Have I been lying all these years?
    I can’t stop trying
    To chase away her fears
    I can’t stop crying, crying,
    Someone else’s tears

Some very nice songwriting. What do you people think?

  2. I think it's a little beauty ! great lyric
  3. I don't dislike it. I use to dislike all the italian singers who sing in other languages (I have nothing against Italians or Italian singers and you all know it - I even know a bit of Italian myself... it's just that I can't stand their accent when they sing in English or specially Spanish! Matter of taste), but this one is nice. And not only because of Bono's presence. Beautiful songwriting and cheesy, nice melody there. I like it.
  4. Very nice ..i love Zucchero for long time my father is a huge fan of him
  5. Nice version !!

Thank you Ronnie for sharing it !
  6. i'm new to this guy could any one please tell me the year and what album of his bono wrote the song for

  7. This particular song is from the album Chocabeck, released in 2010. Bono has worked on other works with Zucchero over the years too. He co-wrote a song called "Miserere", which is on the album of the same name, released in 1992. And he wrote "Blue" on Zucchero's 1998 album, Blue Sugar. A warning from u2wanderer, when looking for "Blue", don't be fooled by the Italian version written by Zucchero, titled "Blu".

  8. Oh my God you're back!
  9. I actually really liked that version of WOWY, and I totally remember enjoying those lyrics of Someone Else's Tears back when it came out. I secretly wish Bono would endeavor more operatic singing on the next album and tour.

  10. bonus track of the deluxe version even though i think the English version has it as a "regular" .. album produced by Brendan O'Brien incidentally (mainly Pearl Jam, but also Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, The Gaslight Anthem, AC/DC...)
