1. I used to have on my ipod a very good soundboard recording of a 'few' songs from what absolutely was a joshua tree show....

problem is, I've lost those files, and never actually new the date or city and am hoping someone can help me figure out what i'm talking about.

From searching u2starts joshua tree shows,,,,,,I know it is NOT any of these listed Soundboard/TV broadcast one's that come up....because I have them.

1987-06-12 London, England - Wembley Stadium
1987-07-04 Paris, France - The Hippodrome
1987-06-27 Dublin, Ireland - Croke Park
1987-09-18 Boston, Massachusetts - Boston Garden
1987-11-18 Los Angeles, California - Memorial Coliseum
1987-10-09 Syracuse, New York - Carrier Dome, Syracuse
1987-12-19 Tempe, Arizona - ASU Sun Devil Stadium
1987-11-07 Denver, Colorado - McNichols Sports Arena

What I remember was that it was a very very nice soundboard recording with a great audience mix as well. And again....it was NOT a complete show...it was only a few songs...maybe just 4.

The two songs that I remember for SURE were on there were Bad and With or Without You.

All I can say that might make someone remember what I"m talking about was that I think at the beginning of Bad, Bono says something to the extent of....

"...this is about a drug that has taken a few friends of mine, and probably a few friends of yours too"

With or without has the classic 'shine like stars" section.

I guess the best way to ask is....does anyone have or know of soundboard recordings of at least these two songs, that are NOT from the shows listed above?

    thanks!

  2. Are you sure that it was a soundbard? Couldn't it be a broadcast? 1987-06-27 Dublin comes to mind. Also, very good/excellent audiences can sound almost like SBD's sometimes, leading to big confussion among fans. That's specially harmful on pre-97 recordings, where the lack of internet and the slowness of mail trade sometimes made lineages and bootleg info's to disappear! I think you could check some excellent audiences of the JT Tour (just in case you haven't done that) and double check with your memories of the tracks you lost.

    Good luck!

EDIT. I've just recalled that 6-27 Dublin hasn't got WOWY, so forget what I told you.

EDIT2. I've recalled now that there is another (short) soundboard of the first leg, containging both Bad and WOWY. And it's not very common. It's 1987-05-15 East Rutherford and, in fact, we don't have the SBD recording of it! Maybe that's it? WOWY contains Shine Like Stars by the way
  3. Soundboard with lots of audience sounds like Croke but no WOWY.

  5. Glad I helped
I think I once burned 4 or 5 of those East Rutherford tracks onto CD as bonus to a whole bootleg, but I can¡t remember when or where that CD might be. Maybe you can find it without a lot of problems - but if you have trouble, drop us a line
  6. I have both the Bootleg-LP as well as mp3 versions.

Unfortunatly there only exist a version transfered from LP with hiss and some pops as far as I know

But one of the best versions of Bad...
