1. I would agree if it wasn't for songs like GOYB, Stand Up Comedy, Breathe, Magnificent, the album version of Crazy Tonight, and just the mixes of the songs along with the way they promoted it. You could really tell they were afraid they wouldn't get any radio play, hence making Boots the first single and putting half of those songs on there at all. If it was an album full of more songs like Being Born or Cedars I would probably like it a lot more.

They could've went all the way but chose not to. I really think the next album will be a good balance between doing something new and doing what they do best. NLOTH just seems scattered like they couldn't find that balance and tried to record songs on both ends of the spectrum with none in the middle.
  2. Yup. This album is still great.

I also chuckled at Pop being considered an actual finished product. I tried listening to Pop again and I couldn't finish. Blehhh....

If it was full of songs like Cedars and Fez/BB, you guys would criticize it for being boooring and repetitive xD
  4. Yeah, hard cores like all of you guys always find something to complain about!

  5. Haha, indeed !
  6. Listening to this album again. It is a gem. Two or three songs too long, but God, the rest is refreshing.

    Ideal track list?

    Soon
    No Line on the Horizon
    Breathe
I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight
    Unknown Caller
    Fez - Being Born
    Magnificent
    White as Snow
    Winter
    Cedars of Lebanon
    Moment of Surrender

  7. Why couldn't it have been full of songs like those?

    I know I would've loved it.

Amen. Also great to see no GOYB
  9. this album will always be refreshing because they will probably never play a song of it live ever again, just like pop
  10. Listened to it again. Yup, it's still good.

I would definitely put out Winter and White As Snow... Even Boots is better (not that I'm big fan of Boots). And, of course, put Stand Up Come in.

    For me:

    Soon
    NLOTH
    Magnificent
    Mercy
    Boy Falls From The Sky
    Unknown Caller
    Return Of The Stingray Guitar
    Breathe
    Glastonbury
    Stand Up Comedy
    Fez - Being Born
    Cedars Of Lebanon

HA, I was just thinking the same thing. Maybe Moment of Surrender will make the occasional appearance a la Bad... maybe...
