    The crowd for really into it at points, especially the big hits (well... I mean it was mainly just a list of hits, only 3 weren't singles after all) and the band really tried to get into it, in the interview after they were really positive and said the mistakes were just part and parcel - but Larry did moan about the crowd being so far away and I think that stunted the show a bit, especially for a band that puts so much on the crowd being part of the show, Edge even said he had to go off into the little B-Stage to get rained on cos it was too weird being on a stage under a roof while the crowd got rained on

  8. The more often I watch it back the less it feels like Glastonbury. They tried to make it a U2 show. That's not necessarily a bad thing (and no doubt it was the bands intention) but it just wasn't Glastonbury. Didn't the band even have their own director in to manage the footage? All these little things just detracted from what I hoped it would be.
  9. Bowies' set was so well crafted.The delivery on all the songs were spot on.The camera shot,at the start,where Bowie enters on stage captures what a professional artist he was.That set has,in my opinion,be the greatest ever performance by a headlining act Glastonbury has ever seen

    Yeah they tried too hard to make it a U2 show as opposed to a festival gig they brought extra screens an extended catwalk and brought in Declan Lowney to direct the live TV feed ,they hadn't done a festival since the 80s so they really didn't know what would work and what wouldn't playing to a mainly non U2 audience was always gonna be stepping into the unknown however they did ok but it just wasn't a particularly special gig. Michael Eavis said they are welcome to come back anytime which would be great as I'd say they would be better prepared and know more about how to approach it.
