  3. Thanks for the update Kirsten
Thumbs up for some good news the 27th of june
    Take care
  4. Thanks much for the update, Kirsten! And thanks much for your nice words about this website, and its users. I think we're all crossing our fingers, and we are certainly not bothered, quite the contrary... (though I think I understand how you feel!). Here's to some good results next week!

    All the best,

    Julien
  5. thanks everyone. you make my days with your comments

just had to call the clinic in Duisburg (where the surgery was done) and postpone the control examination that would have been on June 27, come Monday. My parents are off to Berlin for business and I couldn't find anyone who would have time to give me a ride. I can't drive that long myself yet, so there.... new appointment is the week afterwards now, July 7 I really need some clear infos now, the little knowledge of how things look right now and how to proceed make me go here's to another week of waiting

but some good news I have to share: went to the hospital with my mom yesterday, she had her annual control MRI and mammography after having cancer surgery 5 years ago. All scans were clear, no signs of the cancer returning!! we made it to the magical 5 years where the doctors say from now on only little chance the cancer will ever return. Beautiful Day

Pity about rescheduling your own appointment Kirsten but at least they're not urging you to come in earlier Everything will be alright, don't be worrying. We're all still thinking of you

Great to hear that for your mom too, must be an amazing feeling of relief Best wishes to her too

Sorry you had to delay the appointment Kirsten... I'm confident that everything will be all right, and yes, we're all thinking of you here at U2start Truly great news about your mom!!
  8. Joe.... Julien... thanks about your words regarding my mom it was great news to all of us and a great relief.

I'm having one of "those" days today.... running from one doc to the next... it's another round of checks and all. Can you tell I'm growing tired of it... this morning I had to see the endocrinologist. I'm taking hydrocortisol since the surgery, mainly to support the pituitary gland in their functions. This morning I was told to not take those pills. At the doc's office they undertook me on a 1-hour test, giving me injections with some hormone stuff to test if the p.gland works alright with out the "help" of the hydrocortisol. I'll get those results within the next days, I think. But at least I felt no major sickness or anything during the test, so I take it that it wasn't too bad. Ha. Score for me
That lady who took the blood samples though and gave me the several injections was totally NOT cool today. She couldn't set the needles right and totally ruined my veins. And I never ever had problems with, you know, having blood taken for tests. But you should see me now... my arms are f***ing deep blue from being bruised by her... attempts... to suck blood out of me Yeahness.

on to the internist now, trying to clear things regarding my blood pressure and too fast heart rate. The things that come with the aftermath of a surgery, the things nobody told me about before. Not that it would have changed a thing - but still..... I take every chance to pity myself, so there off to another doc's office. This day is one of "those" days. I think I deserve a huge amount of pizza tonight. Yes I do
  9. That needle problem happens to my mother quite often, it's really awful seeing her arms in deep purple blood
What's about the important examination you had on July 7, is that schedule still valid?
  10. Are you always so positive? To me it looks like although your problems, you keep staying positive and that is a amazing ability. And I think you surely deserve that pizza(s)

no, not always. less and less lately, to be honest. but what choice do you have really.... I hate all this and I'm so tired of it all - but if I think of those who are far off worse then me, it all looks better, you know
And hell yeah, I deserve that monster of a king size pizza now

Sergio, July 7th is still valid. This Thursday morning at 0915. I'm so hoping for some answers, whatever direction.
My mom has weak veins, too, whenever she needs to be taken blood, I cringe just from thinking of it. They don't try the arms anymore, they always go directly for the hands, which is truly painful. But she never says a word. You can learn so much from your parents.... well... in some regards, that is. In others.....
  12. Bart, you have to absolutely IGNORE the first part of last Kirsten's post. She is ALWAYS one of the most positive persons I ever met (met? knew? oh well ).
