  3. The incredible thing is,my friends,an.d it is taking me an hour now already to type this - but this is my topic so I have to tell you. You know I'm a Schalke fan as much as a U2 fan. This football club is my passion and my life forever.
    However last summer in 2011 there was a big city festival here in our Ruhr Valley here,the whole area around Cologne, Dusseldorf,etc so you know our western part of Germany here, my home :-)
    However,in one of those stupid. Street fights one night,a Turkish man hit a young man into the face,just because.one hit,one The incredible thing is,my friends,an.d it is taking me an hour now already to type this - but this is my topic so I have to tell you. You know I'm a Schalke fan as much as a U2 fan. This football club is my passion and my life forever.

    However,in one of those stupid. Street fights one night,a Turkish man hit a young man into the face,just because.one hit,one punch,skull /head broken,brain damaged,life destroyed.
    This young man is named Kevin. He is a well known. SChalke fan. Only in his early twenties,a life destroyed because of stupidity. Everyone in Schalke knows him since last year,we support him constantly. Since last year whenever we are in the stadium,in our arena auf Schalke. One Hecht one soul

    Yesterday I walked the first steps on my own out of my room here,slowly carefully attempting one own step after another. Hard and difficult but worth a try.,..,

    Two rooms down this corridor I saw into a full equipped room full of machines, breathing machine and all - and huge scarfs and banners of Schalke on the wall, the big "Kevin vor - Kevin ahead" banner on the wall - and our Kevin himself in flesh and blood lying there.so close to me. Our brother,one of us,always in our royalblue hearts, so very close to me

    How can I not fight even more to get out of here.um stand up for this Schalke brother of me,to enjoy life for him even more when he can't?!
    What an emotional push, can you imagine that...,unbelievable. The world is sooo small sometimes you have no idea. Always Schalke, always U2. Enjoy life, carpe diem whenever you can.

    Very sad story, sheer stupidity. Amazing and scary how lives can change in an instance. He and you both have one thing in common, apart from Schalke. Incredible support from the communities you're both involved with. He has the Schalke fanbase and you have the U2start family. We wish you the best as U2starters and you wish him the best as a Schalke fan, so it's one big circle. We wish everyone the best in life

    I hope you're recovering well Kirsten. I hope your friend in the room near to you is ok too. It's unclear from your message, but judging by the severity of the equipment, it sounds like he's been there since the incident, if that's the case, it's horrible to even think about it.

  7. Kevin got that one punch into his face last year and lies in a no return coma ever since. No hope for him to ever fully wake up again. Wow I really need mental rest now. So many thanks for your words Tim !!
  8. Spammelyspam forever indeed, dear grandma Kirsten! You are doing better and I hope that's contagious and your Schalke brother will get better too. Those small steps will lead to bigger steps and are a part of bigger steps. Keep at it

    I saw your missed call this morning; I've had a busier than busy day and didn't see it happen. I'll phone you up tomorrow morning (or maybe you do it if you see I forget about it - tomorrow will be a busy day too). And dear, I am SO GLAD that you've given your first steps on your own. Those are so incrediby good news that you've just made my day
