1. Good album, not brilliant and Matt Helders must be a little mad with it (there's very few left of "The Beast" here, but anyway), it might be their best album since Favorite Worst Nightmare, even having 3 or 4 mediocre fillers.

    1 - Whatever
    2 - FWN
    3 - AM
    4 - Humbug
5 - Suck It And See
  2. Or not.
  3. Listened this morning. Top 5 release of the year for me, currently. "Knee Socks" is out of this world. The flow is ridiculous throughout, too. Hell of an album.
  4. I'm afraid I'll be waiting until next Monday for when I first listen to it. I hate leaks.
  5. If I could erase the artist and their previous releases for me, it would be top1 of the year for sure. The album itself is a fantastic mix of indie and progressive rocks, funk and R&B.

But if I think these are the guys who wrote A Certain Romance, 505, When The Sun Goes Down or Pretty Visitors, my blood boils quite a bit. Oh well, the never ending story of the style evolutions and how much different can you accept a new album to be from another one you love...
  6. Au contrare Sergio, that very fact is what makes me like AM very much. A band who has more or less 'mastered' a certain sound abandoning that sound and grabbing a new, funkier, more foreign (at least to them) style by the jewels and committing an entire album to it...that's what makes a new album great. Not necessarily repeating what you've done before.

Sound like another band we know?
  7. Yeah lots of bands have done similar things, including some of my all time favorites (U2, Beatles) and also new bands (Muse, The Killers, Coldplay)... It's just that I simply don't like the Monkeys' new style as much as the older sound. Matter of taste I guess.
  8. Who knows how much time will this be up. Anyway, for the time being:

  9. Any good?
I dont have the time to sit on my pc and use up my data on this and be stuck without.

  11. A lot of influence from The Black Keys and QOTSA in my opinion.

Suck it and See brought me into them and I think this new album is a really nice evolution of it.

    7.5/10 after the first listen
  12. Really liking Snap Out of It, would never expect this kind of song from the band.
