This said, I don't think I'll reach "Stage 4: Depression" until the night of that actual show - where they open with "Release," play a whole bunch of tunes from Ten, Vs, and Vitalogy as well as "In My Tree" and "Breath" and close with "Yellow Ledbetter" - a song I haven't seen live since 1998.

Then I will move onto "Stage 5: Acceptance" and keep my fingers crossed for Toronto 2015.

Det is going to be a GREAT show Matt..they ALWAYS bring it to the motor city .

I would really rethink about attending that gig Matt .

Trust me, Ed. I have rethought it - many times! - since last Tuesday.

Unfortunately, I am kind of in the same boat as (the other) Matt. It's at least a four hour drive on a Thursday so I would have to take the day of the concert off to ensure I got there on time (I felt that I cut it close enough for the London show) and then would have to either drive home immediately after (not fun...no drinking) or stay the night (and then take another day off). Trust me...I have considered this even though my wife might question my sanity. The deal-breaker is that we are a single-car family so if I took the car, my wife would have no way of getting my kids to school and herself to work. I won't do that to them.

Once again, if the show in the summer or on a weekend, I'd probably be there.
  3. Now that's enough whining/excuse-making from me.
  4. Makes sense then . Too bad they didnt do a proper tour , but we know what the deal is with this band and touring .

You take what you get .
  5. You can't complain though, at least they are touring.
  6. Although it is nothing compared to Peter and you this summer, Kieran, I did get to see them twice in 2013. Before this, I had never gone to multiple concerts for one band in a single year. In fact, only twice before I have seen the same band in back-to-back years (in case anyone's wondering the shows were GNR 91/92 and Oasis 01/02...plus I almost saw U2 in 09/10 but Bono's bad back delayed things by a year).

Anyway, I really just want to see Pearl Jam in Toronto again - and I am hoping to do another first for me: Two shows in a row.

I suppose one might argue that I could rent a car and take it to Detroit - but then the cost of going to the show would start to get a little ridiculous.

  8. ...and I still can't believe you are going to FIVE (!!!!!!) shows in a matter of a couple of weeks this summer!
  9. I mean really....FIVE SHOWS!!!!! I can only imagine how many songs you'll get to check off your "bucket list."
  10. There's a good chance you'll hear all of Ten over the course of these five shows and most of Vs and Vitalogy!
  11. I should have urged my wife to take a trip to Europe this summer (although June is still too early for me) instead of British Columbia.
  12. Crap...I'm rambling again.
