  1. Set was pretty lacklustre but they rocked. The crowd was totally manic, maybe too manic. Vedder had to tame them after Corduroy. Loads of shoving forward going on. Had a little bit of beef with some 'hard core' Pearl Jam fans at the front. They decided to sit down after MGMT but I couldn't because I was squashed. Plus there is the old pushing to the front because they are bigger fans. It is quite an unfriendly fan base if I am honest. When will they learn? Eddie signalled to give me his tambourine during Baba but I just got swamped. I'm sore now and I still have two days of the festival left.

    Yes Matt, I am glad to be seeing them twice more after last night!
  2. If PJ was like say...U2.... This would be the set we see EVERY night plus maybe 3-4 other songs swapped in n out... I hate festivals. I will never attend one. Glad u have 2 more shows left.
  3. I mean... 360 averaged 23 songs a night yet this PJ set looks so short on paper! It's so funny how they raised the bar and now easily break 30 songs a night.
  4. Rumour has it that PJ gets THREE hours tomorrow in Belgium so maybe it'll be a bit more interesting to follow from a far. Also, no new songs to the tour were played yesterday thus putting it low on my "bootleg-to-get" list.

    All the above said, I don't doubt that it was a good show to watch in person. Lots of rockin' hits performed!

    I've been to one festival (Lollapalooza, 1995) which had bands that I liked at the time but didn't love. Anyway, the whole experience wasn't my cup of tea but if there's a band or two (or three) there that you really enjoy, I guess I can see it being a worthy endeavour.

    Agreed. I was glad I attended one U2 show in 2009 and then another in 2011 - very different setlists at least between these two shows. However, I pretty much new the setlist in advance both times but I guess that's my own fault for checking on this site!

    I like festivals but only for bands which I'm not a hard die fan of. If U2 was a festival band (which they aren't) I wouldn't enjoy a festival show of theirs as much as I enjoy their own shows. I probably would have loved attending that PJ concert last night because they played a lot of the songs I love by them, but I see why Kieran is pissed (besides the crowd attitude which is something completely location/band-depending). Festival performances and setlists are much more casual-fan-oriented I think.
  10. Not sure what is always the issue with some of the eastern european fans. Seem always hard to behave and drinking like crazy. Had the same experience in Trieste with Slovenian and croatian fans, total out of mind and no care for others. One suddenly woke up imguess saying hey Jeremy. Don't want to generalize but most bad encounters i had with them. Loud shouting and talk loud during songs.

  11. Everything is more expensive – travel, living costs and the tucket alone is more prisey. Line-up at Werchter was much better though. Jack White pretty much sucked last night too.

    Yeah, the Eastern European fans lack any form of consideration for others. That can be applicable among most things even though they are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. I've met some wonderful people here in Poland over the last two weeks. They just have some problems, manners being a major one.

    My worst experiences were with Italian fans at U2 concerts. They're nice with you until the concert begins...after that it can be messy.
