I envy a lot of people (well, not really, just longtime PJ fans who attended some of these classic shows) and you are one of them, Ed. I look at the setlists to these shows (especially Randall's Island 2) and am in awe of what they played. They really didn't write any clunkers in the 90's, did they?

Unfortunately, a 1996 show might not be as representative of No Code and[/i] Yield so we might get "stuck with" another 1998 show - which would be great, of course.

  3. It's funny because don't get me wrong, I love the early shows mainly because of the setlists but I really feel the band as a whole sounds better now more than ever.
  4. EV's voice certainly sounds different than 15 or so years ago. You can hear a sort of "drawl" when you listen to the 90's (even the 2000) shows.
  5. I waited to post this on Matts behalf, it's too good not to share.

  6. I appreciate your thoughtful consideration on my behalf and, fortunately, after an admittedly dark couple of days, I am good as new. I will definitely watch this on my lunch hour - but look forward to hearing the full bootleg in a few weeks.

I shouldn't do this but I will for the sake of humility:
I have seen just six songs from Ten performed. If I had attended Toronto 2, 2011 (Why Go, Deep, Garden all played) and the Detroit show (which I really couldn't so I don't know why I was so distraught) I would have completed the album - my favourite PJ album ....well, maybe Vs. is but you get the idea.
  7. I've been reading the PJ20 book over the past week. Some very interesting stuff. This said, I suppose I already know a good deal of the items discuss in the book - without even paying much attention to the band for about a decade!

  8. Wow he nailed both Release and Oceans! Awesome.

One thing I can't understand are all the fans taking photos during the song. I'm way too busy (when I do in fact attend) belting out the songs to be worried about the photos.

I guess I should be thankful that some people do this (like the videographer here - was it you, Nick?) or I would get to watch from the comforts of home/work.
  9. Phone stayed in pocket all night. Not my video. Too busy screaming every word. But thanks to whoever did !

Nice! More to look forward to now. There will be plenty chances. And PJ20 is an excellent read. How about I come out of the shower and my wife has PJ20 on TV! Amazing. Like I'm falling in love all over.
