Yes. The atmosphere inside was better and louder. I didn't think anything could beat those 2 nights in Brooklyn. Not taking anything away from those 2 shows which were unbelievable, but I think there were a lot of people who traveled to this show and you could feel the excitement before they even hit the stage. You had to be there to understand. And of course all those crazy Canadiens!

You guys are badgering me again, aren't you? You two do it so subtly but I know what you're up to!
  2. I'm not even close to being a drummer, so I am talking out of my you-know-what, but "In My Tree" definitely has a Jack Irons "feel" to it.

With respect to the bootlegs, I suppose I'll take what I can get as only the Berlin '96 and Melbourne '98 boots have (very) high-quality Jack Irons performance of "In My Tree." I'm also a fan of the Columbus 2000 and MSG 2003 renditions.
  3. In My Tree is probably in my top 10, I love it. I'm a big fan of the San Francisco 2006 version as well as when it opened Vancouver 2009.

Can't wait for this Detroit bootleg.

I still never heard it in its proper form. I'm not a fan of the way they played it at MSG in 03. It's such a great song.

You know I've never heard that Vancouver boot, and I know I always wanted to because of that opener. U just reminded me. I don't have that boot so.......
  6. Neither have I. I was dying to hear it during the Euro tour, instead I got Who You Are twice.

I have it and can transfer it over to you but I'm at university right now. Matt gave me it so if I haven't given it to you in time, he probably will.
  7. also check out Greensboro 2000 you get "in my tree " & "crazy mary" back when they never played either very often. Eddie evn says he is going to take a few sips of wine for courage before "In My Tree" , great show
    Melbourne 98 is great also.

I know one of my PJ brothers will hook me up! No rush. My mind is on getting home and getting Detroit for myself and uploading it immediately.

  9. True......but as you pointed out , that NC gig has a very solid version from 2000.
  10. I'm a drummer. Matt never duplicates the original version of any PJ songs live, not even the ones he recorded. He will never play it exactly like Irons. Irons is a great drummer but Matt is on another level. He is a machine. Irons would never be able to play these shows. Plain and simple.
