1. At the 2:38 mark of this video (the one you posted before), your can hear the "Matt" lyric:

I kind of presume that he'd be looking at their drummer at the time.

    He isn't.

Not to belabor this issue but at what time in the song did you hear this?

    Last verse.

I'm telling u dude it's weird. It was a holy shit moment when I heard it. Pretty weird considering the whole situation. And has he ever said Matt during Release?

    Matt??
  4. Ha. Ha. I don't know and doubt that I'll be taking the time to find out.

The song's been played 153 times over the band's lifetime and although I probably have about half of those performances (and almost all with Matt Cameron being their drummer) I don't think I want to listen to all of them anytime soon.
  5. One last thing about the "Oh dear, Matt" lyric during the last verse of Release in Detroit...this guy was in the audience:

    His name? Matt LUKIN!

    Crank your stereo up!
  6. Wow.

DRIVE DOWN THE STREET CAN'T FIND THE KEYS TO MY OWN FUCKING HOME.
  7. Nick, I can't even imagine the excitement you went through during the first three songs. I'm getting excited myself just listening to it. It sounds remarkable.
  8. Release into Oceans to start at show (or at any point in a show) has never happened before and will most likely never happen again.
  9. They sound incredibly enthusiastic, so much so they mess up 'Go' and 'Mind Your Manners' a little bit. The energy is off the scale.

Just asking, what the hell is Lukin about? I like it, screaming along with it is great, but what is it about ?

  11. It was written during a time when Vedder had that increasing stalker problem so he wouldn't go home, he would hang around with Matt Lukin of Mudhoney. The reason the lyrics are so incomprehensible and the music is so quick and punky is because Matt Lukin gave Vedder shit for having too many long songs - therefore Vedder made a sub-one minute track about it. Pretty neat, huh?
  12. Haha that's cool indeed, great story. Thanks for that
