1. I'll probably always like Save You best from Riot Act if only because it was a radio hit back in the day and I remember really "digging it" when I heard it. It has about an eight-year head-start (along with I Am Mine - solid tune) on the rest of the album (which I really do enjoy - even Bu$hleaguer) since Riot Act relatively new to me - although I bought it in 2006.

Ranking the tracks on Riot Act:
    1. Save You
    2. Can't Keep
    3. I Am Mine
    4. Green Disease
    5. Love Boat Captain
    6. Thumbing My Way
    7. Half Full
    8. You Are
    9. Bu$hleaguer
    10. Help Me
    11. Get Right
    12. All or None
    13. Cropduster
    14. Ghost
    15. Arc

For the record, I don't dislike any of these songs. It's a very good album. Down, Undone, and Other Side are all solid tunes and should be integrated into anyone's Riot Act playlist.
  2. Just doing some "Eddie Vedder 2011 setlist" research:

There were three songs on the PJ20 tour that I was hoping they'd play but didn't: Sometimes, I Am Mine, and Can't Keep. Just discovered that EV played them all a whole whack of times on his own tour. Go figure. I guess he had had enough of them.

Can any of you recommend a good bootleg from his tour - preferrably one that contains all three of the previously-mentioned songs?

    Thanks.

  3. I did as well. It was a really weird night. Show was great until that point. I've never seen such hostility towards anyone onstage including opening acts but I sure am glad I stuck with PJ over the years.

We Got Shit has a few.Spreading the Jam as well. These are audience recording though,so sound isnt so great.

  5. I know. But,he was way out of line IMO.The song didnt bother me.It was the fact he dressed up,put the mask on, then he put it on the mike stand. At times,he seemed to even impale the mask on the stand. This happened in Denver,04.01.03.Thousands of fans walked out pissed.

    I respect EV.But I dont need him doing that.Not then.Not now.Its all uncaIled for.It was too soon after 09/11.

If I want to be preached to,I just have to see our boy from Dublin for that right...LOL

True.I was insulted by that nonsense.

I dont agree with some of EV political beliefs, same goes for Bono,Bruce,Dave Matthews.I love their music, what they do off the stage,I dont care.I just dont need it literally shoved in my face.

  7. far away from me to create any kind of controversy so .. i just say..
you suppose very well .. they always express themselves and their thoughts without any filter at 360° ... political (Bush and whatever) .. ecological (BP accident) .. social (school, homeless, etc) .. justice (West Memphis Three) .. music (MTV, Ticketmaster, Grammies, etc) .. all just examples.
and they've done both with initiatives and lyrics since ever.
similar things come/came from other "musical heroes" of mine ... John Lennon, The Clash .. U2 (cool they didn't get the same reaction back in 87 and 92 or The Clash during their US tour ..).
this attitude makes me love and estimate them even more
Bono did a great speech in Milano 09 N1 against Berlusconi and .. we applauded him not booed.

ps: Ed sometimes you shoved it in your face by yourself when singing some of their songs .. said it with affection
i repeat i absolutely don't want to be mean to anyone

Not a problem Ron.I dont want to get into a big polictical todo. You are someone I consider to be a gentleman. This isnt the place for it.But,like I said, the song didnt bother me.It was Vedder, wearing a mask of the President,12 months after the worst attack in US history. That offended me,and thousands of fans.I knew people, friends of mine, who died in the Twin Towers.Over 3,000 innocent people, from all over the world died that day.Why wasnt Vedder screaming about that ??

Instead,he was ripping Bush.Nobody in America wanted to be bitched at then. We,for once, were the victims.Thats a fact.Vedder was acting like Bush was the enemy, not Bin Laden.Thats how alot of Americans felt.Like I said,it was too soon.

At the Denver show,he implaled the mask,of a sitting President no less,to the mike stand.Thats juvenile delinquent behavior, and a borderline criminal act.I dont think John Lennon would have done that. Why didnt he wear a Bin Laden mask ?

EV obviously couldnt stand Bush.Thats fine.Hes entitled to his opinion.Sing a song about it.Like World Wide Suicide or Life Wasted.Or even,yes,Bu$hleaguer.U2 obvioulsy have many political songs.Bullet The Blue Sky,Bono is dissing the US military, because of their involement in El Salvador, and Nicaragua. He sings about his displeasure.Thats fine. But Bono has never stepped over the line.IMO,EV did.

I love PJ's music.Same goes for U2,Bruce,Dave Matthews,Radiohead. All can be very polictical bands. But,Im not at a rock concert to be preached to.If you like hearing Bono go on,and on,and on about Africa,or Aung San Suu Kyi,thats fine.I respect that.Im not there to hear a Sermon.Im there for the music.

When U2 played MSG,in October of 2001,I attended the 10.24.01 show.He didnt say anything about the attacks. There were no words.Just the music. For me,it is U2s finest hour.

Later on,Bono said it "was a time for healing.Nobody in NYC wanted to be preached to then.Especially from a Rock singer".Walk On took on a totally different meaning for me.It was my anthem, following the attacks on 09/11.In U2'S book,U2byU2,the band members talk about how emotional the MSG shows were. How they felt about 09.11.How they feel about America. This takes up 3 1/2 pages.385,386,387 and 388, in the paperback version. That showed me alot.

PJ20,pg 247 mentions Sept 11.EV performed Long Road on the Tribute to Heroes telethon. He wanted to play Gimmie Some Truth, but opted for 'something to participate in the grieving process instead". Thats it.....
