We'll resort to "alternative method" if the new boots have excess static. Let's hope this isn't the case.

Most of the shows have sections with pretty prominent static. It's not horrible but certainly not of the quality we've been spoiled with over the past decade and a half.

    Rockin' In The Free World

This show has always been a favorite of mine , as its a strong, no-nonsense in your face performance. Mike McCready is out of his mind during this show . He is absolutely killing it on this night and he totally takes over .

EV was under the weather with a cold during this show, but he assured the crowd that he was drinking plenty of fluids (naturally his red wine) . Eddie's nightly joke for this show is the story of a Yogi Bear tattoo he saw on some guy's butt - one of the more hysterical jokes of the entire tour.

Eddie was quite the humorist at this show. He informed the audience that "the lead singer is on drugs tonight ...any of you ? Ah Fresno we expected no less from you " lol; the worst tattoo he ever saw involved "Yogi Bear and a guy's buttocks" and introducing Mike McCready to Fresno, "Fresno, Mike McCready-Mike McCready, Fresno"....LOL

Musical highlights include Mike McCready's extra-long , extra crazy funky solo in "Even Flow," especially good extended jams in "Daughter" and "I Got Shit," the opening sequence of "Interstellar Overdrive" into "Corduroy" which the band has nailed by this point, and the inclusion of Footsteps (a personal fav of mine) and Indifference ( another fav) both of which appear very rarely in the bootleg series.

I cant leave out Animal, Dissident and of course Nothing As It Seems are ripped to shreds by Mike.

Do yourself a big favor , and give this very underrated show a listen .

    ..and so you should be.

I want to "go dark" until the Toronto shows but that wouldn't allow me to get your (and Nick's and Jason's) feedback on everything. The stories you'll be sharing with us in a little over a week will be great.

The month of May still seems so far away!
  8. I was going through my numerous PJ boots today..(I have about 3 large boxes) and I slightly dropped one of my bootleg boxes , and this boot (with 2 others) fell out . I was going to toss it back in the box , as I was actually going for my 2000 boots , but I decided to glance at the setlist....man I remember Kieran was raving on about this gig couple years back.....and rightfully so...what an absolute monster of a gig.....

  9. I've never left a concert so speechless. We had a 20 minute walk back to the hotel and the only thing me and my friend said to each other was 'Brazil got thrashed 7-1 by Germany - wow'. It was a long time for me to grasp what I had witnessed: well over three hours of a band that completely disregarded the concept of a curfew to play 36 songs with several rarities lodged into the set. That concept alone put people off. There was apparently loads of people in the seating area leaving after the second encore started because they weren't playing the 'hits'; then they played 'Black', 'Jeremy', 'State of Love and Trust' and 'Baba O'Riley'. Then there was the one guy shouting out Ten songs throughout the gig while everyone gave him abuse for smoking. I remember that gig like it was yesterday – it is still to this day the best concert I have ever been to. I have the poster framed and I have the t shirt. Shows how much I love it.

I expect to be speechless multiple times this year. Great post.

Agree with Nick , great post....PJ definitely can have that affect on the concert goer... MSG N 2 2010 was pretty historic , but for me Milan 2000 was THE show ..it was like an out of body experience..just simply a magical night all around.......

Also the Garden 09.11.98 , Randalls N2 '96 and MSG N1 in 2003 , when the floor was literally shaking during the show have to get honorable mentions for me.......

    Brilliant!
I was never the same after Sept 11, 2011.
