Yes,you are deff cheating Matt...LOL....I only use one true opener for a mix.I dont even like to use the same song if it was a closing tune.Example,I look for a version of Indifference that DID NOT close a show,and include it.Thats why I make so many different mixes,from the same tour.I made this 4 disc mix,as if it is one long continuous gig.

    If you want to start disc 2 with an opener,I would suggest using Long Road from Virginia 08.03.It isnt necessarily the best version from the tour (10.24 San Diego),but it has the most emotion.Virginia, was the first show after the tragedy in Europe.Or you could use Oceans,it was only played twice,08.09 West Palm,and 10.15 Texas.Release, from Chicago,10.09,is fantastic.Sometimes from Jones Beach NY 08.24, is also great.

    Also,remember that Leash,DEEP,Blood,Why Go,Rats,W.M.A.,Glorified G,Satans Bed,Who You Are,Im Open,Around The Bend,No Way,Low Light,Push Me Pull Me and All Those Yesterdays were not performed in 2000.

    1) Wishlist - 10.09 Chicago.....good song,I like it alot more live..studio version is all muddy....
    2) Given To Fly - 10.11 St Louis..The band were on a great run.Det,East Troy,Chi-town and then St L.This really is a great show.I have changed my mind about this gig.Played it in its entirety last night.Hadn't listened to it in a long while.Fantastic version of GTF here......MUST HAVE GIG.
    3) Porch - 08.07 Atlanta.. nice,crisp,SHORT,normal version of this tune.Solid gig.IMO,this gig should NOT have the ape/man tag.
    4) Habit - 09.02 Philadelphia N2..great gig..MUST HAVE GIG....insane version here...
    5) Mankind - 08.25 NY N3...good version,great gig,Stone on lead vocals..he sums it up after sayin "Good God".but hey,its Stone so..
    6) In Hiding - 10.09 Chicago..great uplifting song..pefect version..
    7) Betterman (Save It For Later) - 09.05 Pitt..great show..great version here.no question,A MUST HAVE GIG...
    8) Daughter (Its OK) - 08.03 Virginia...incredible awe-inspiring rendition,very emotional..contains the great Its Ok tag..9 min long
    9) Present Tense - 09.01 Philadelphia N1..GREAT GREAT GIG..MUST HAVE....prefect version of this great song...
    10) Jeremy -10.25 San Diego...great show..MUST HAVE GIG...Ed and Matts hometown..nuff said...
    11) Pilate - 10.25 San Diego....good tune,as I said...great show......

    Disc 2..1 hr,18 min..very nice flow here...Chicago does dominate a bit..but ,IMO it is the BEST show.....

    Yet how on earth could I omit Release and Sometimes - and Oceans, I suppose? I'm sorry, but I'll have to cheat. Maybe I can rig it so that any opener will fit nicely when I do my editing. We'll see. Also, I can make sure an opener that doesn't start a disc doesn;t sound like track #1...even though we know better.

    Yeah, only seven Vs tracks for the entire tour - too low, in my opinion.

  6. I may have to turn this 4-CD set into a series of "mini-shows" and use each of the four openers as track 1...still got to figure out what to do with Oceans, however. Can't I use "Of the Girl" as a track 2 - like in was in one of the gigs in Poland?

  8. First "draft" of CD1 made using most of your suggestions/recommendations (thank you) but....

    Starts out like this:
    1. Long Road - thought it would be appropriate for the first song in the mix to be the very first song on the tour
    2. Of The Girl - I promise you that I made a great transition

    Also:
    18. Insignificance - had to use Seattle N1 version as the Boise transitions too soon into the next song (Animal)

    It seems that every tour they play SO MUCH but still miss out (intentionally?) on playing a few of the great ones from previous albums.

    Open the encores with the other "openers" lol. Not the same I know but better than nothing lol

    I think it's done intentionally. I get the feeling that EV takes great pride in writing a setlist and every song that's performed night after night are there for a reason. That's the feeling I get

    You can use any of my suggestions Matt...I'm just a nutcase fan...lol...I like Of the Girl as an opener,since it was the Binaural tour.I do break it up with different mixes.But I do agree with opening with Long Road....I believe Of the Girl was played like 15th or so in Memphis in late August..I willl check when I get home...I'm in Battery Park freeeeeezin, watchin my son play tag football...I couldn't get tickets to see the Rangers in Montreal this time.....the shrine of hockey....Montreal........lol
