this disc flows great, and compliments disc 2 nicely IMO....Fresno and Tampa really should get a full listen

  2. IMO......yes....
  3. I usually start my Europe 2000 mix with Sometimes from Berlin 06.25,then Of The Girl from Poland 06.16, when it was played second.

BTY,Of The Girl was played 15th in Nashville on 08.17.00.....so that solves that.My thing is,I dont like that version, compared to say East Troy starting the show with it on 10.08.....
  4. Let me ask you this Matt, would you start disc 2 of a U2 live mix 2009-2011 with The Return of the Stingray Guitar ? You can of course, but does it FEEL right ? IMO it makes disc 2 sound like the start of another mix...maybe its me ???...It probably is..lol
  5. Since U2 has relatively set/stagnant setlists (and something like Stingray seems to have been written to be an opener), mixing up a U2 show would be a bigger deal than a PJ one. However, the comparison, although a bit extreme, is valid.

I would say that you would be more "sensitive" to these sort of things as you've "been there" for the past decade (and longer) where I have just jumped back on the wagon this past year - and I have never really followed their setlists that closely. "Sometimes" did, however, open the only other show I attended back in 1998 (I was very surprised by this at the time) so I do appreciate it's value/place as an opener - and only an opener.

How about the following rationale? Eddie didn't open his own tour with it last summer.

    It's about time!

You do realize that I was waiting for this all day yesterday. Too much sports on, I suppose.

I forget if you said you we a NY Giants fan. BIG win for them, indeed.

But are they "MUST HAVE" gigs? I need to know if I should add them to the list.

  8. Well then I'll have to double up, or triple up, on openers then.

Night 1: Long Road and Of the Girl

Night 2 (Disc 3): Release, Sometimes, and Oceans (not necessarily in that order).

It works for Night 1 but I don't think three in a row will work for Night 2 - needs to "rock out" sooner. Maybe move Oceans out of there - it doesn't always open - not these days, anyway.

  9. IMO yes..Tampa is a great show, after a couple of lackluster gigs in West Palm Beach..Fresno is a great show as well Matt. That show, always gets its props on the PJ forums.

Both Philly (Camden) gigs are great...09.01 and 09.02...must downloads to all 4 IMO.

And no,they did not receive the ape/man tag from Stone...

Im actually a Jets fan Matt, but I dont hate the New York Football Giants at all.Im shocked the Packers spit the bit yesterday.

Later on today Ill list N4...
  10. Matt, check out the acoustic set for Mansfield 07.11.03.....Long Road,Of The Girl and Sometimes are the first 3 songs....3 openers, flow is very nice..wish they would do that full band.Sometimes does feel "weird" 3rd though.....
  11. So I can rest (and proceed) now.
