  1. I feel that Ten is a better album than the others because is "flows" the best out of all of them - very cohesive sound amongst all the tracks. The next two albums (Vs. and Vitalogy) have many standout tracks (that are more listener friendly which you might enjoy - I do) but, to me, also contain one or two clunkers.


  2. I'm okay with distinguishing "the greatest" vs. "my favourites" in terms of bands. It's the details in particular songs for any given band that gets me. I'm also better at it with bands that I wasn't around for. For example, I avoid Beatles hits like "Drive My Car" and "Yellow Submarine" as much as humanly possible. I have a harder time doing so with a song like "I'll Go Crazy" or "Get on Your Boots" - they're U2 concert staples so I do my best to keep giving them a chance - but I hope they drop both of them on the next tour.

    As for PJ, I don't I'd have given "Who You Are" much of a chance if it wasn't a single back in 1996. I initially wasn't much of a fan of "Wishlist" either - although it eventually grew on me after more listens.

    I always liked Drive My Car,though I agree with Yellow Submarine.

    Who You Are was a disaster as a single,as was Boots for U2...Crazy Remix IMO was perfect for my bathroom run each time.I dont know why U2 just didnt play the studio version of Crazy live.I thought it was going to be a great tune,and IMO,a much better lead single than Boots.

    PJs first 3 releases are mega....IMO, VS is as close to 10 as one could get,as far as a followup release.I love those 2 albums.Reminds me of my youth 20 yrs ago. .What happened.....LOL

    With you also being an Oasis fan, I would guess you would also consider DM and (WTS)MG as a comparable one-two punch for a band's first two albums.

    I think PJ gets the nod when you consider the first three albums of both bands (although Be Here Now isn't a bad as many say it is).
  9. I agree on all points.Actually,Morning Glory was so good,I started to listen to Oasis way more than PJ from '95-'98.As you know,I thought No Code was awful when released in '96.Live though,NC and Yeild are fantastic.
  10. Yeah. Both Radiohead and Oasis kind of replaced the grunge bands for me in the mid-late 1990's.

    I like all of PJ better now that I have heard all of it live. However, No Code has indeed had the biggest improvement.
  11. Without question,I became a huge Oasis and Radiohead fan...I was also into Blur in the late 90s ....speakin of Radiohead.....when are they commin back to NYC..
  12. Not too sure about Radiohead's return to these parts. They seem to be announcing concerts dates piecewise.

    Just thought of something: I started listening to more PJ shortly after TKoL came out. I wonder if things would have been different if RH had released a "rocker" instead of beep/boop/moan/blip/etc?

    No regrets, however. None whatsoever.

    Now back to that 2000 mix I was working on.
