I really like this Rio gig from Nov 6th....My tickets arrived today for Roger Waters (Yankee Stadium) and Im listening to PJ play a beautiful version of Mother..how sweet is that ??!!??!!
From SOLAT on, the 2 encores are fantastic.....Jeremy ends the first ,encore 2 Mother,.Better Man,Black (We Belong Together) ,Alive, RITFW Indifference, Yellow Led.....wow..thats some run right there...Black is just brilliant....
Ed of course flubs the lyrics to Indifference..ah..but its still great....
Speaking of which, I'll need something to do in February (I wouldn't want to be hunkered down on my computer during the summer months mixing CD's. now would I?) So...I think the 2003 tour - yes, the entire North American tour for now - deserves a celebration (i.e., 4-CD compilation)
So what about the 2009 tour? Aside from the classic four Philly shows and the four not-as-popular-but-just-as-good Universal City shows what are your thoughts on these sets of shows (NAm, Europe and Aust)? Although is was a relatively short tour, they seemed to play a great deal of their back-catalogue - even more so than in 2010 and 2011. Just the usual suspects (Who You Are and WMA - oh, and Around The Bend) were the only songs not played from the first five albums. Only Riot Act seemed to get short changed.
2009 was solid, but as you pointed out, short. The 4 Philly gigs and the 4 LA shows,IMO,were the best gigs.Melbourne, 11.20.09, is simply a classic gig.Alot from 10,Oceans played midset for a change.
The 2003 N.American tour June/July has many a great show.San Diego 06.05,Chicago 06.18,East Troy 06.21,Detroit 06.25 and 26,Toronto 06.28 and Montreal 06.29.These are the top gigs from June, that are MUST HAVE IMO...I have a couple of nice setlists Matt. One is 2 Nights In Canada (I left out the Vancouver gig). The other is June 2003.When I get a chance,I will deff list them.
