1. Neat Facebook/Youtube post by Pearl Jam:

  2. Great I still stand by U2's version, but PJ do a pretty good job at it.

I think Can't Help Falling In Love would rank high in a "most covered songs in history" list... Unchained Melody, Blowing In The Wind, My Way... and this one!
  3. I, obviously, am a big fan of PJ but NOBODY, not even Elvis in my book, did that song better than Bono.

Stay away from Corey Hart's (not the MLBer) version.
  4. Speaking o Pearl Jam and covers, I sincerely adore this:

  5. like i read somewhere else ..
PJ are a punch in the stomach .. Eddie a caress on the face

    ps: announce those july dates!!!
  6. the incentive is Eddie himself

My favorite versions of it are Bono's and also Russell Watson's.

    Nice!

Doing a little "reseach" and according to setlist.fm this was the last time PJ played this song. It also says that Tom Petty had only performed this song once - ever !- and it wasn't until 2011 in Detroit (??????). Is that a mistake?

Unfortunately, setlist.fm isn't THE absolutely-reliable source for every artist... yet.
  10. sort of you tell me U2 played One first time in Moncton 2011? hehe

(George W. Bush used "I Won't Back Down" at campaign events during the 2000 presidential race but was compelled to stop using the song after receiving a cease and desist letter from Petty's publisher. Petty did not want the use of his song to be construed as an endorsement of candidate Bush)
just an extemporaneous curiosity extemporaneous on the song .. no meaning behind

  11. Just posted this under the "Album of the Day" thread. This looks interested - and illegal? I got the image from the "Antero Boots Trading Site."
