So what's the deal with the 2004 shows? Were they "officially" released like the ones from 2000, 2003, 2005, and 2006? I supposed I could ask the same about the few shows played in 2001 and 2002.

maybe because those dates in 2004 weren't properly a PJ tour; they were inside the Vote for a Change tour with different artists involved
I just listened to both the remastered versions of the two 1998 shows (Melbourne and Seattle). If you don't already have them, you MUST get them. The 1998 tour is THE BEST Pearl Jam tour. "All killer, no filler" when it comes to the music from their first decade.

apart from that those 2 are definetely a must have .. for the sound for the performances for the setlists
^My only "complaint" about the two remastered 1998 shows is that Jeremy (an essential PJ tune) was omitted from both setlists. I really hope they decide to release more material from that tour.
