I saw WMA and Who You Are in 2008..June 24 and 25,MSG..I was never a fan of them until hearing them live.....I always felt WMA was too much to the left..lets criticize the cops, bla bla bla because they are always wrong..(like 41 shots) we have to find fault with something right lol.....anyway...good tune though...
I am putting the finishing touches on my 2003 mix. I think all the songs have been chosen (the same 74 I listed last week but a few "locations" and position changed). I just have to make sure the transitions between the songs are near-flawless - can't have any abrupt segues. I'll upload and post in the near future.
I am also nearly done a 2006 North American mix - four CD's as well.
I will be happy to (eventually) look at the 2005 Canadian tour but as I said before, I am miffed that they didnt play "Once" once (ha) on the tour. It's an essential tune that I'd prefer to be included in every mix.
I haven't listening to very many 2008 or 2009 full shows , just select tracks - like WMA and Who You Are from the 2008 MSG shows and the Toronto gig in 2009.
Mike McCready announced during a radio interview on WFPK today that Mad Season are planning on reissuing Above and also have a live album in the works. Mad Season released their lone album in 1995 and played their final show in April 1995. 3/4 of the lineup (Mike McCready, Baker, and Barrett Martin) recorded the instrumentals for a second album in 1997 but couldn’t get Staley or Mark Lanegan to sing on it. McCready said they are looking for singers to complete it. There are 12 songs without vocals. Baker passed away in 1999 and Staley died in 2002.
This is from ArtistDirect‘s new interview with Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard:
Are you working on new Pearl Jam simultaneously as you’re touring with BRAD?
We’re always picking away at this new record. We’re plugging along, and it’s taking shape. It’s pretty exciting.
What’s the most exciting aspect of this process?
Trying not to recreate Backspacer is one of the things we want to do. We want to make sure we’re not just locking ourselves in. We want to keep expanding our horizons. We’re still writing, and what it’s going to be is still up in the air.

Mike McCready said on WFPK today that Pearl Jam have 15 ideas so far for their new record that is tentatively set for release in 2013. 2-3 of them are outtakes/demos from the Backspacer sessions.
again Stone and Mike being a little contradictory to each other ...
