WHOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAA whatta day. In retrospect I wish I would have been at day 2 instead of only day 1- Those rarities were awesome, a real treat, and I know if I went to another PJ show they wouldn't play those (and would instead give me more of what I wanted to hear- the greatest hits)...but still, knowing that I saw songs that have only been performed a handful of times- plus the Temple reunion-...it was just an insane time.
Also, I talked to Mike McCready
He was standing on the side of Star Anna and the Laughing Dogs' stage, waiting to go on to play two songs with them, and me and my friend John appeared to be the only people that saw him hiding away. We ran up to the rail way off to the side of the stage, and he was miraculously only about 15 feet from us. We waved and waved, and finally he noticed and turned. He smiled at us and threw up a peace sign before saying "Peace, boys!", giving us a final smile and leaving to take the stage. We were euphoric...it wasn't much, but we interacted with him. It was just serene.
Did I ever mention to you that it was your posting of the Chicago '95 show a while back that inspired me to start listening to them again - and get tickets to this Sunday's show in Toronto?
