1. Just listening to the Moore Theater show (1992) - great performance.

I'll finish post later - kid screaming.

    [MUCH LATER]

    Aaahhhhh....parenting.

    It can suck sometimes.

Anyway, The Moore Theater "Vault" show sounds amazing. Great, energetic performance. After listening to so many bootlegs from the 2000's, it's almost weird listening to the band, specifically Eddie, a decade earlier. Ten is a very raw album compared to any of their others and it is really cool listening to a younger, more naive Vedder sing and speak. I have to admit, however, that I do somewhat prefer hearing songs from Vs and Vitalogy mixed into the set. I guess I just love all three of those albums equally.

The "Drop in the Park" is just as good as the previous one. I'm listening to the mp3's (as opposed to a vinyl rip) from the show. Unfortunately, each track fades in and out as opposed to one continuous show - kind of like U22 will more than likely be.

I will (finally) listen to Las Vegas 1993 (in its entirity) tonight and tomorrow.

    I can just see it:

"Happy 18th Birthday! We're going to Disney!"

You'll make local highlight reels (at least in the NYC-area) for sure!

Ha Ha Ha.classic idea.....that would be great Matt, but my Ranger ticket partner and I really only go with each other to playoff games, unless something comes up..like trips to Florida,or a Disney Cruise..lol...If her birthday was during the regular season, then yes..I would have tried that..no question...
  3. Ooooh, I really like the performance of "Alive" from the Drop in the Park.
  4. I listened to Vancouver 09.02.05 this afternoon.I havent heard this show in its entirety in ages....

Have to say,the band are a bit off here,at least during a good portion of the main set ..

Release starts things off,and sounds very good...but EV flubs a verse 4 min in..kinda spoiled it for me...Go kicks off what should have been a very rockin run,it wasnt...Animal,Save You,GTF,Corduroy, that should have killed it.....it didnt......the band sound good..but not great..

Im sure, this had something to do with the marathon Gorge show, that was performed just one day before this gig....the intensity just isnt there..

Example.....EV sings GTF...he doesnt SCREAM "a wave came crashing like a fist to the jaw, delivered him wings said look at me now, arms wide open" etc..he just kinda..sings it...thats really how I judge that song, and or the whole bands performance.I can just..tell ....right off.....if they are ON or OFF..this night ,they are OFF...at least for the first part of this show...

Corduroy sounds like they are going through the motions...

LBC is a train wreck...EV forgets half the second verse, and mumbles other lines...not good.

After a somewhat blah version of 1/2 Full..the band wake up finally...EV chats up the crowd and a good version of Daughter is played...it was starting to get groovy,.but kinda just...ends.....other tours (2000) the band would jam out during Daughter ,for close to 8-10 min at times..and I miss the Its OK tag !!!!!

Immortality and Nothingman save the main set,and flow very nice back to back here..very solid versions, nice smooth sounding solo by Mike during Immortality.Nothingman is spot on,I cant really hear the crowd, but this is a near perfect version...

A blistering version of Blood ends this uneven main set....the Atomic Dog tag is great..and I need it during all versions...

I will review the Encores tomorrow..I was tied up with the Flyer/Devils game..I hope they kill each other for 7 full games Matt...lol
  5. Pearl Jam, meanwhile is closing in on completing its next studio album, Gossard reports. “We really want to finish a record this year. [It's] now between half and three quarters done, but we got some new material and we’re excited about hopefully doing some more work on that later in the year.” Among that new material, he divulges, is a brand new hard-edged rocker by fellow Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready, “that’s fantastic that reminds me of Motorhead. I hope that that one is in the mix coming up.”

No release date is set for the as yet untitled follow up to 2009′s “Backspacer,” but Gossard explains Pearl Jam hopes it will be out in the first half of 2013, “if all goes according to plan.”

  6. from an interview of Stone at WFPK

On Pearl Jam touring with Soundgarden: “sounds fun, I think we should do it.”

On Eddie Vedder’s injury: Said Ed hurt his back moving a bench in the back yard, his arm went to sleep. Now he’s going through physical therapy, “He’s in the process of getting healthy right now. I think he’s improving. I think everything’s going to be fine.”

On next Pearl Jam box set: Said there will be another one, but no concrete plans yet, “”I don’t know when the next one’s coming out.”

On new Pearl Jam music: Said Pearl Jam’s best records are ahead of them.

That does sound like a great start "on paper."

I have to get that set - ASAP. I want a physical copy for sure.

If they don't play the "It's Okay" tag at the end of Daughter, I'm ALWAYS a bit disappointed. Listen to the Winnipeg 2011 version of this song - there is BOTH a "WMA" tag AND an "It's Okay" tag afterwards. Very rare, indeed.

    I love those two songs.

Good for the NJD for hanging in there - they really took it to them after falling behind a goal. I guy in my hockey pool as all Devils, however.

  8. How does Matt Cameron feel about this? Maybe Jack Irons will have to return for this tour.

Getting old sucks, doesn't it EV?

I wonder if this box set will contain live songs or if they will be reissuing No Code and Yield? Maybe another show (from 1998) to complement the set????

Glad they are so optimistic...although, what else are they going to say...We realize that are three best albums were made two decades ago - that's why the majority of our live set it from them - but we'll keep pumping out music anyway

good thing i think .. it shows theyr'e still willing and enjoying in doing good .. as well as a quite obvious thing to say
Bono style .. "Best album? the next"
  11. I like what Radiohead said about new performing new music during their recent Coachella performance: It makes us feel like we're still alive.

I'm sure PJ and U2 feel the same.
  12. What's with "first half of 2013" ???..Its early 2012....not for nothing, but they had alot of time last year to record, ecept for Sept and Nov....and the first 4 months of this year pretty much...I know EV is "hurt",but this 3+ years between releases is very frustrating...

I don't expect PJ or U2 to be the Beatles, and bang out classic releases 2 times a year...but still....

DMB are done recording with Steve Lillywhite...Mr Lillywhite recorded "the big 3" for DMB in the 90s,I'm sure this release will be solid...and I would love to see Lillywhite record with U2 again...just him and him ALONE as the producer.....I have had enough of Eno leading U2 around by the nose, like they are his kids...Bono has even said that they depend too much on Eno.....

Anyhow....back to the great Pearl Jam 2005 Canadian tour.....Halifax is next up today...................
