1. I like what Radiohead said about new performing new music during their recent Coachella performance: It makes us feel like we're still alive.

I'm sure PJ and U2 feel the same.
  2. What's with "first half of 2013" ???..Its early 2012....not for nothing, but they had alot of time last year to record, ecept for Sept and Nov....and the first 4 months of this year pretty much...I know EV is "hurt",but this 3+ years between releases is very frustrating...

I don't expect PJ or U2 to be the Beatles, and bang out classic releases 2 times a year...but still....

DMB are done recording with Steve Lillywhite...Mr Lillywhite recorded "the big 3" for DMB in the 90s,I'm sure this release will be solid...and I would love to see Lillywhite record with U2 again...just him and him ALONE as the producer.....I have had enough of Eno leading U2 around by the nose, like they are his kids...Bono has even said that they depend too much on Eno.....

Anyhow....back to the great Pearl Jam 2005 Canadian tour.....Halifax is next up today...................
  3. too much distractions along the way Ed ... Stone recording and touring with Brad, Mike with Flight To Mars and some Shadows reunions .. Matt (Cameron) we all know .. well at least i can see one of the five this year hehe
Jeff seems to be the only one quiet in this period
  4. this is the serie of years between each album
    2-1-2-2-2-2-4-3-
maybe Matt can find some mathematical rule in it to predict when the next will be hehe

    sorry guys thoughtless afternoon hehe
  5. Hahah Ron..how true...cold and rainy here in NYC.....a good music day ...
  6. To finish up on the Vancouver '05 gig....

Encore 1 is good..nice version of Footsteps (a keeper version for a mix) and Small Town is played well, another b side,U is played before a solid version of Alive. This encore didnt impress me much...Footsteps is always appreciated by me..love it,Alive saved that encore IMO.

Encore 2 is solid...another rare b side,Bee Girl is played and adds a good touch to this encore. As almost always,Black is fantastic,EV whistles the "do do do do, do do do" at the start and ending...very nice version (bit short at 7 min though),and it runs straight into a very good, solid 7 min version of Porch...(these 2 songs are 1 download for some reason...clocking in at 14 min)

I Believe In Miracles is played, and has never done a thing for me..I of course know why they play it,but Im bored with it.Play another Ramones song please...rockin' version of Baba follows, and Ledbetter ends it....

Decent gig..Id give it 3 1/2 stars out of 5...Immortality,Nothingman,Blood,Footsteps and Bee Girl are my standout tunes from this gig.
  7. I'll put the data into a spreadsheet program and perform a few regression analyses on the "data."

This is a bit crude but….

    Let y = years after 1990
    Let x = album number

For example, Ten gets data point (1,1) since it was PJ's first album and released in 1991. No Code gets data point (4,6).

    We're looking to find y when x=10, PJ's 10th album.

    A Linear Regression gives y=2.183x - 2.14.

So y = 2.18(10) – 2.14 = 19.66 (which rounds to 10, meaning their 10th studio album should have been released in 2010. That’s, obviously not possible but since the length between albums increases as time goes on, a linear model seems inappropriate.

    Let’s try an Exponential Model:
Here, the regression analysis yields y = 1.28(1.384)^x.

    So y = 1.28(1.384)^10 = 33 – so this means we shouldn’t not expect another album until 2023! Yikes.

As you can see, Pearl Jam setlist randomness extends into their studio album release dates. If they say it’ll be in 2013, I’ll take their word for it.

  8. Ed and Matt are you keeping trace of these very good reviews you do?
it would have been a great thing to have them in a document with ratings, thoughts, must have, highlights, whatever

challenging job i know hehe .. just wondering
  9. hehehehe well done Matt hehe
  10. Matt..you are obviously a Math teacher...lol
