The top five post-2000 performances of Daughter that come to mind all (must) have the "It's Okay" tag (in one language or another). In ascending order they are:

5. May 20, 2006 (Cleveland) - it's on my 2006 mix
4. Sept 11, 2011 (Toronto) - great version; probably some bias here
3. Sept 14, 2006 (Bologna) - I love the "tuttu ok" part
2. Sept 17, 2011 (Winnipeg) - has both WMA and It's Okay tags
1. Aug 3, 2000 (Virginia Beach) - in my mind, no rationale is necessary

Daughter is a great song but after nearly two decades of listening to the main body of the song, it's now the tags that make it for me. A similar case can (and will) be made for Better Man.

I should also add that there may be better versions out there - I just haven't heard them yet. Please let me know!

Keping track of your 2005 Canadian reviews, Ed. So far:
Toronto, St. John's (N1), Vancouver, and Halifax?

I will begin 2005 tomorrow. Planning to start with Toronto. On paper, it looks like a show that a somewhat casual fan would fall in love with (like me a little over a year ago): Opens with Release plus the "Big Four" from Ten spread out through the set; all the essentials (and more) from Vs (seven songs in all); the two "gods" of Vitalogy (Better Man and Corduroy); the main three from Yield (Given to Fly, Wishlist, and Evolution); a cover of Neil Young's Havest Moon; and close with YLB - plus more!

Now...let's find out how it sounds.

(sorry to correct you .. i'm certainly not the right one for doing it cause of the huge amount of mistakes i do hehe)

that list is very good Matt as also the Wembley 00 suggested by Ed is outstanding and have to be in a sort of ballot hehe

i'd add also Jones Beach N2, that is also in Touring band 2000 dvd .. and Virgina Beach 00 first after Roskilde .. it's ok very very touching

a good list now to select the "winner" hehe .. if some others don't come in mind

I haven't listened to the Wembley version in a while - will do so later on today.

I'm not sure if I have ever taken the time to listen to that version. I will get on that one.

There was a pretty good version in one of the SA 2011 shows - I think it was from Porto Allegre.

I listened to the two London versions and the two Jones Beach versions of "Daughter" on my walk to work today. Although the Wembley version(s) of it are indeed solid, they don't have the "proper" It's Okay tag and therefore I remove them from the running. The N2 Jones Beach one is excellent and merits consideration - although I don't know if I'd put it ahead of the Virginia Beach performance.

I really should do some marking.

Some of my favorite versions of Daughter...from the 2000 tour....in order of performance date...

1) Wembley 05.29.00... Its Ok tag,solid version
2) Salzburg 06.18.00 ABITW/W.M.A. tag, no Its Ok,but a great version nontheless..
3) Virginia 08.03.00 * Its Ok, great emotional version..
4) Jones Beach ..very solid,(I prefer DC and Virginia)
5) Washingtin DC 09.04.00 * Its Ok.. one of the best versions from the 2000 tour...very emotional,long jam session
6) St Louis 10.11.00 no Its Ok,nice jam. I use this version only for my 4 nights in Oct 2000 mix.(Det,East Troy,Chi. and St Louis)
7) Seattle N2 11.06.00 * very good version here... Its Ok...I really like this version alot,Ed chanting with the crowd..long jam session...great great version...clocking in at 9 min,one of,if not the,longest versions from this tour.
