1. maybe they're going to make some special boxset for those .. who knows
  2. I have to say,Im a bit disappointed with the cd release,of PJ 20.The film was great, and I ordered the super deluxe from PJ.com.Side 1 is good, but Alive,Garden and Why Go sound awful. The versions from Drop in the Park (vinyl released with 10 deluxe version) are fantastic and sound great.I have other early boots (Zurich 06.18.92) that sound way better than those versions.I know, from a nostalgia point of view, why they are there. Its one thing to watch an early clip on dvd ,that sounds bad,its another to listen to it.I was hoping for more unreleased live gems here.I admit, most dont have 95% of their boots like I do,since 2000.The great live versions here,(Release,Crown of Thorns,Indifference,Bushleaguer,Better Man,RVM)I already have.So that was a bit of a letdown.

Blood,NFY and Last Exit are my highlights of CD 1.Great sounding, rare, unreleased early live versions.Walk With Me is also a nice addition.

CD 2 is where things really go downhill for me.Where is VS ?? Where is No Code ? I wish a couple of great sounding live versions from 1996, could have been added here. For years,I have listened to 2 great early boots.LV 11.30.93,and Berlin 11.03.96.The band should have cleaned up a couple of songs ,from those 2 gigs, for this release.1996 is my favorite year, and to not have anything here is a shame.Too many bad sounding demos IMO.Plus, there is room for more tracks on both discs. How about a couple of tracks from Lolapalooza 1992.Or Randalls Island 1996.Would have been nice to hear some live tunes with Chris Cornell, circa 1992,instead of poor soundin demos.Need to Know demo ? Instead of In My Tree live 1996 ???

Overall,a nice addition to my massive PJ collection. But,I think this cd could have been put together better, songwise. The cd itself, booklet and all,is beautiful.Also,PJ.com are selling the Deluxe version of the film, with 4 hours of extra film.
  3. all that you say is reasonable and shareable from a certain point of view
but it's the soundtrack of the movie right? so it should reflect it (i tell you i haven't watched it yet, waiting for my 3 disc bluray boxset )
also i think that in this kind of release it's very hard to have all satisfying .. whatever is the choice there is always something out that leaves disappointed; so vast are the things from which to draw
i personally love the demos in there
like you said it's a nice addition and i'm loving seeing it on my PJ shelves
  4. Interesting comments. Admittedly, I wasn't planning to buy PJ20. With so many live boots out there, I felt that I'd save my money to get the boots from the T.O show instead. I suppose, however, having more from the 1990's is a good thing. I'll give the Las Vegas '93 and Berlin '96 a listen.

Where did you see the movie? At the theatre?

Yes,I saw it here in Manhattan.I thought it was great.EV is also on the cover of Q this month.Good interview.Go to pearljambootlegs.org.They have so many great boots from the 90s,and also the released boots up til 2006.

True. But IMO,I cant listen to a bad audio of Alive or really anything.I can watch a clip more easy.Like in the film.I understand why its there. But,thats me.I just thought it would have been easy, to add a couple more rare live gems like, Animal or Sometimes or Long Road to either disc. There is room on both discs for extra tracks. Not a big deal.

Im also surprised Release and Indifference are live versions from 2006.The 4 shows the band played in Italy,IMO,were the best from that year.I just prefer live versions of songs closer to when they are released. The Torino gig,09.19.06, is a favorite of mine. The new cd from 2006,PJ,is performed in its entirety.

Also, try to get a hold of the Drop in the Park download. The band released it on vinyl ,as part of the Ten re-release.Sound is fantastic.

yes i know .. great job on that vinyl
  8. I might make an Italy 2006 compilation. I see that pearljambootlegs.org has them. Can you recall if any "important" songs were omitted from those setlists. I'll inspect them closer myslef but I was just wondering if anything jumps out at you.

Ahhhh..I stand corrected....LOL..Yes,I missed Bologna....my bad...I love the Italian gigs..I was luck enough to see the band in Milan,06.22.00.....maybe..THE best show the band has ever played.....

No..not really..Blood,Leash,Lukin,Hail Hail.....Black...Breath..RVM.....Go..Tremor Christ..maybe the best version of Release (verona,09.16.06) since 1995...That is no surprise as its included on PJ 20...the Torino show, the band play the Avacodo cd start to finish cd 1...I play those versions all the time.....Its great to hear EV speaking Italian after the songs.Check out Given to Fly.It is nothing short of amazing,Verona gig...

PJ.com sent me 2 downloads recently from red rocks 06.20. 95..Falling Down and No Jeremy.....really good tunes, the No Jeremy song ,is a slow grovy burn of the original Jeremy.

The shows in Italy 2006 are just...special IMO....download all 5 gigs...make a mix....the 2 nights in Portugal are great as well, but IMO the Italian shows are the best from 2006.....there are also a few good sites for the artwork for 2006 as well.....pjbootstrading.org......Im a PJ freak..lol...have been since 1991...PM me if you want any gigs from 2008-present..I have them all....same goes to you Clover68....
  11. go and tell them to come back here as soon as possible hehehe .. they know there will always have amazing time in Italy
a particular word to Eddie .. i'm madly wishing to attend at least one of his solo show!
thank you so much for your kind offer .. don't worry i'll take as soon as i'm in need
same goes to you of course
  12. Sounds good. I went to Italy for my honeymoon in 2006 so there's a connection - although I didn't see the band. THAT would have been cool...my wife's not a big fan, however.

I was a really big fan of PJ from 1992-1995, lost it a bit with No Code, got it back for Yield and then they became a "tier two" band for me for about a decade....until recently where now I can't get enough of them. It's neat as most of Riot Act and Backspacer (aside from the singles) are new to me.
