1. True Ron,I left out the Boss..what can you say..hes the Boss, and his setlists are amazing...

As far as U2,I think they could just switch songs around and make it at least a little different....ending 99% of the shows over 3 summers with MOS is so boring...we as hardcore fans knew 2 hrs before what was going to be played..thats what I loved about the Vertigo tour,2005...I believe that is the only year (2005),where 3 different tunes were used as openers, and the encore were different every night..360 had 3 different openers over a 3 year period..Breathe 2009,Stingray 2010 and EBTTRT 2011...DMB and PJ do that in 3 consecutive gigs...
  2. I suppose one might argue that PJ ends the (near-)majority of their shows with YLB but the variation within the set more than makes up for it.

In any case, your comment amplifies the fact U2 needs to focus less on the production within their shows and more so on the music. And sure, it would be nice if they played the majority of their 30-year catalogue but even truly rotating 60 to 70 songs in and out of their sets over an extended tour would be a welcome change.
  3. I was following both the PJ and Radiohead sets yesterday but I have to admit I was way more interested in what PJ was playing.

    Why?

Because were all going to get official bootlegs of these performances in the near future!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Thats true Matt...by the way, what ever happened to the PJ20 Alpine gigs ?? 10 months and waiting ? Im not even that interested in them now..the Toronto gigs came AFTER PJ20,and they seem old to me now,I guess cause I listened to them so much over the fall and winter...
  5. I know we have literally hundreds of live versions of Animal, Go, and Corduroy but the fact that were omitted from both PJ20 sets put me off a bit. You know me and my liking for the PJ "hits."

That said, I have complained a bit that the band didn't play songs like Whipping, Light Years, and Grievance this past Euro tour. However, these songs were played in Canada last September so that's close enough. Also, these songs they did play were great - all of Ten, all of Vs (Although WMA was just tagged), my seven favourites from Vitalogy (plus Bugs, I suppose), tonnes (and the greats) from No Code and Yield plus the absolute best tracks from the four 2000's albums and a slew of classic non-album tracks and covers. Not too shabby at all
  6. thanks man .. it's always nice to add a site to bookmarks to check every now and then

lets talk it back when (if?!) they will come out in such a nice package hehe
hoping it won't be Vault #99 uh
  8. it's a bit nit-picking "complaining" of something in this mini tour .. uh one sure thing to complain of is right this .. it was mini!! hehehe
some more dates and those songs would have been played Matt
anyway sometimes it's good to try to force something not so good because always writing/reading "great" "awesome" "wonderful" "best ever" .. becomes boring hehe .. and what kind of discussion it'd be?
  9. In terms of the quality (and quanity, i suppose) of songs played, I'd say that Euro 2012 beat all four mini tours from 2010 and 2011.
  10. just about the previous post of the "complaining" thing hehe .. a couple more from Riot Act wouldn't have been bad .. lets say Can't Keep and All Or None (that i really love)
it's been a while both are not played
    Can't Keep since 2008
All or None since the Vic show!!! 2007 .. where it was the opener .. and before that not played so often
  11. There are some good tunes from Riot Act and the two you mentioned (Can't Keep and All or None) would be nice in a slower/acoustic portion of the set - paired up with Just Breathe???? And how about Thumbing My Way? That would work nicely there as well.

Songs like Get Right, Ghost, and Help Help (surprisingly played at PJ20) are solid but, in all likelihood, will be shelved for the most part.

Bu$hleaguer is definitely done - unless another oil tycoon from Texas becomes president.

Matt Cameron wrote Cropduster, right? I think that's why they play it. Admittedly, I'm not a fan of that one.

Like other fans, I thought that You Are would get played - although it was omitted from the Canadian tour in 2011.

As for the Riot Act singles, I guess EV was sick of I Am Mine last year (played on his solo tour but not the PJ one) so it was nice to see it back. Not surpirsed that Save You made a few appearances. I guess LBC was a no-brainer for Denmark.

They seem to really like Half Full (or 1/2-Full). I guess it's a good one to "jam" on. I don't mind it - but don't love it. Same goes for Green Disease. A good song - just not one of my favourites.
