1. U2 arent off doing solo projects, and when U2 tour, they do a proper fullon tour.....not some mini 2 week tour and thats a wrap. Also, Bono has never toured solo,or even released a solo album. No comparison .

EV released his solo album last year,so why is he still touring, when he could be with his "band" recording ?
  2. Think they deserve to do solo projects after 20+ years, especially when it brings such beautiful music. They/he also could not tour and stay at home. Glad he didn't because EV solo in Amsterdam was one of the best concert experiences ever, what a talent that man has. Don't understand me wrong, off course I love U2, but saying PJ isn't really a band anymore is a bit harsh, in my opinion off course.

And Bono has no solo shows, true, but don't underestimate the time he has spend on the political path, off course for a good cause, but also very time consuming while he could have been in the studio
  3. I agree about the solo thing. They deserve it,as long it doesnt interfere with the main band.IMO,it does. But as I said,EV toured last year and released his album last year.I attended a show at the Beacon here in NYC,June 2011.It was very good. But,why is he still doing it ?

Id prefer for them (PJ) to put out a record, and do a real tour,as they havent done a full tour since 2006.IMO,a 2 week tour, isnt a tour. And the festival thing is gettin old,as they have been doing this "mini tour/festival" gigs since 2007.

Also,is Matt in PJ or Soundgarden,as you cant be in 2 b ands at one time.
  4. Bono's polictical path has slowed down alot.U2 take years off,do their own thing, which seems to be spending time with their families, not doing solo projects.

U2 then tour for years, after taking years to put out an album. There is no question that U2 are still a band in every sense.Larry isnt off playing drums for another group, nor is Edge doing solo acoustic gigs.

At this point in time,I would prefer for Pearl Jam to do the same as U2.
  5. That I agree with you 100% about Matt, especially when they almost at the same time tour/record. You can not be part of a creative process with one, when you also have work to do for or even be on the road wit the other.

Let's see if the rumours of a new album are true, but likely it will be followed only by a US tour. In Amsterdam he mentioned something about not sure when we would see them again, could be a while. So we already started saving for if there will be a show in Seattle
  6. It's certainly a "tricky" thing having Matt in both bands but these guys have been in the business for nearly a quarter of a century so, in my opinion, if that's how they want to do things, so be it. That said, PJ are indeed due for a new album. However, if it's gonna be a bunch of songs like "Ole," no thank you.
  7. So, aside from the JayZ song, what did all of you think about the setlist?
  8. Finally, may I ask who's in charge of this week's bootleg?
  9. This weeks boot Matt,is not a well performed gig at all.Sirius played it on saturday night.A couple of tunes were botched bigtime.

  11. Hmmm....should we "skip it?"

The completionist in me says "no" but I don't want any of us to waste their hard earned cash.

Just checking: Werchter was the only show from the Euro 2012 tour that included "Spin The Black Circle" in the set.
  12. That is up to you Matt.Im a bit "put off" by our boys from Seattle at the moment.

My opinion is based with some cynicism.
