    first encore break hehe .. by now i've found the start a little bit limp, not in itself but in comparison to A'Dam N2 for example ..
    then Corduroy and show lifts off to top levels indeed!

    This run is why I said it is the best Euro 2012 show. Also, Wash (from A'Dam 2) is very, very good. Long Road is better.

    I too love that (new?) Immortality intro. That song is now definitely in my top 10 PJ songs. It's just great.

This doesnt surprise me at all.The fact that he doesnt mention Obama at all in the last 4 years,tells me he thinks every is fantastic here in the States.Of course,things arent here.Why doesnt Eddie mention how Obama sent close to 100,000 troops to Iraq ? If a Republican had done that,forget it.Politically,he a hypocrite,like all the liberals here in the States.He pretends to hold beliefs against war,then why not openly question what Obama has done ?

    He such a left wing ultra liberal,I wonder if Tim Robbins and Sean Penn will be in attendance.They can all talk about how bad W was,and how great Obama is.

    I love PJ's music,but EV politics are brutal...

  4. It (and "Wash" are indeed underplayed).

    I didn't included either of these since they were from the 1991-1995 era. Although not all the songs gets played (very often), I think most would agree that pretty much everything from those years is awesome - aside from "Bugs." My list was intended to emphasize great, but underrated, songs from PJ's lesser known albums.

    Celebrity is a good way to promote (i.e., attempt to educate people about) poiltics but, unfortunately, many people (not you, Ed) in the crowd listen to these celebrities' views for the wrong reason. They say to themselves, "Well, I really like the song 'Alive' so I must also share this person's (EV in this case) political views. Furthermore, many of these "stars" are so one-sided that they lose sight of the what's very important - considering why the opposition does what they do.

    It's complicated.

    There is no such thing as "right" or "wrong," only consequences to our actions.

    It's kind of the same as labelling songs like "Hunger Strike" and "Crown of Thorns" as covers. I suppose that "technically" they are but ..not really.

    Top 10 Essential PJ covers:
    (Not including the two songs I mentioned above or intros/snippets/tags like "It's Okay," "Modern Girl," and even "Interstellar Overdrive.")

    1. Rockin' in the Free World (obviously)
    2. Baba O'Riley (obviously #2)
    3. Gimme Some Truth (I wish they'd start playing this again)
    4. I Believe in Miracles (I've recently gained a new appreciation for this song - Benaroya is awesome)
    5. Crazy Mary (a classic but I just may prefer the subdued, studio version better)
    6. Fuckin' Up (Uncle Neil rides again)
    7. Love, Reign O'er Me (EV really belts out the notes on this one)
    8. Leaving Here (lots of fun)
    9. Sonic Reducer (lots of fun #2)
    10. Last Kiss (a bit overrated but some nice live versions)

    There are other great/essential ones out there especially from the 2003 tour.
  9. I love Baba O'Riley - personally my favourite cover done by Pearl Jam. I'm quite a fan of The Real Me as well.
  10. They do a very nice job with many songs by The Who, don't they?

    Two others that I should have mentioned:
    "The Kids Are Alright" from (I think it's) Cincinnati 2000 and "Let My Love Open the Door" from Soldier Field, Chicago 1995.
  11. I dont think anyone,other than EV,can sing Daltrey ....he's such an intense singer...EV does a great job doing Who tunes...
  12. i share at 100% the opinion of Eddie as the best (by far) alter egoof Daltrey .. same for The Doors (listen to the RnR Hall of Fame induction) .. and Mother .. it seems to have been written for him to sing.
