1. Baba,Love Reign and The Real Me are great covers by PJ..and I cant say it enough,EV is the only lead singer to have the balls to consistently cover the Who,and cover them so well..I mean, who else would even attempt Love Reign Oer Me ???..and EV nails it.......

I would much rather hear these songs than RITFW any day, also I LOVE Fuckin Up..that is a classic.....and PJ dont play it enough IMO....actually,I would rather hear (at this point) Fuckin Up closing a gig, instead of Yellow Ledbetter...but,thats just me....
  2. YLB is a classic PJ tune but I think I get what you are saying, Ed. It's sort of grown into something bigger than it needs to be - or ever should have been. I think they need to attempt to do something else with it and refrain from using it as a closer.

I'm not too sure how many long-time, hard-core fans would agree with me on this one, however.

I can appreciate that some/man of you prefer "Baba" over RITFW. I definitely prefer The Who's version of their own song over NY's version of his - I'd be lying if I said I was a huge fan of "Uncle Neil's" music. I respect him as a musician but have just never really been that into him, However, PJ (to me) vastly improves the quality of RITFW more than they do on Baba - because it's such a great song to begin with!

Am I making any sense here?????
  3. What a sec....they're playing two shows this weekend, aren't they?

Dang, I'll miss any possible setlist "parties" tomorrow night as I am away but might check in on Saturday.
  4. Matt,I hear you..I made that statement about YL on 10c forums, and because they know me as a fellow psycho fan,I was allowed to keep my dignity...lol....but it didn't go over well with the "hardcore elite" at all....."YL must close" bla bla,"someone like you should know better"...bla bla

Most hardcore feel it should only close gigs, and to suggest otherwise is preposterous.....I don't agree....

I also loved when Release was played during the Encore in Amsterdam...out of the norm, and IMO,it went over bigtime.

    That's just it, I suppose.

As much as I am impressed with how the band played just about any song from their catalogue - and play the very well - there is still some predicability in there.

I think they should now move to an approach that any song can be played at any time.

    (I can believe I'm complaning about PJ's sets in a U2 forum.)
