1. They are appealing to me.Its funny,my friend Chris, from London, doesnt listen to the London gigs much, that we attended. He loves the Jones Beach shows more, that we hit,at the end of the summer of 2000.The N.American gigs were great as well. The 3rd leg the band really put it in overdrive. But when I hear the Italian audience, singing word for word, durin Small Town or Nothingman, its just fantastic soundin to me.Hard to explain really.I love Europe.Been there dozens of times. Can't wait to go back in 2012.Its strange, each time I go there,U2 aren't on the road.Radiohead,PJ and Oasis are.Maybe Ill see Beady Eye next year in London.

I really like the way Of The Girl opened gigs in 2000.Try that mix with live versions from 2000 Tour.

If only because you own every bootleg from 2000, any thoughts as to which shows I would take these Binaural songs from? [edit] I've downloaded "Of The Girl" from Milan.

Please feel free to do the same with any other album!

And how about you, Ronnie? Any recommendations?
  3. do you mean best perfomances of Binaural songs in 2000 tour or in general?
have to think of it a bit
  4. I was meaning Binaural songs but feel free to discuss "in general" too. I appreciate that this may take some time but your opinion here is valued.
  5. I will put a list up of all the songs from 2000 European Tour first. Then I can list songs from the other 2 legs. The band picked 18 shows, out of the 72,that they thought were the best. The back of the bootleg, has a small picture of an ape,and a man. These were referred to as the apeman shows.Ill list those as well.
  6. Bought the PJ20 DVD yesterday and watched last night.....HOLY CRAP YOU GUYS NEED TO SEE THIS MOVIE.

    The end.

I have heard about that...I'll look those ones up and work from them.

I'd have just used the European leg of the 2000 tour but, according to setlistfm, Parting Ways wasn't played until they reached North America.

True, same goes for In My Tree (08.06.00) and Breath (09.01.00).Im sure theres a few others as well.

Alive, was dropped after the Roskilde tragedy. It wasnt played again until the last show of the year,Seattle N2.
  9. I dont really agree with the whole Apeman list. There are a couple of shows picked that,IMO,I dont think were so great.Example.Paris(06.08).This is an Apeman listed gig.Its good. But Prague(06.14)Berlin(06.25) and Hamburg(06.26) are superior shows.IMO of course.Stockholm(06.28) and Norway(06.29) are great shows as well, and as good,if not better than the Paris show.San Sebastian(05.26) CD1 is very intense.A fatastic first set.But side 2 is a mess. Many mistakes. So,obvioulsy I understand why it was left off.But you need to hear the first half at least, from that show. The breakdown during Alive,a complete mess. But a must hear.LOL

Most of the N.American Apeman gigs I agree with. But the 2 shows in Philly(09.01&02)(Camden,NJ) are way superior to say,Atlanta(08.07) or WPB(08.12) that were picked over them.

Each show is different.Yes,alot of the same songs appear. But what makes PJ so special,is the simple fact that,THEY PLAY DIFFERENT SETS EACH AND EVERY NIGHT.Sometimes EV does the set 10 min before they take the stage.I love his comments in PJ20.He said something to the effect of "I couldnt play the same set, each and every night. Some bands do this.Like every night.90% of the same songs.Id go mad".He should tell Bono this.
  10. I think it's truly amazing how well the band can perform any given song in their catalogue as well as they do any given night.

I'll take your non-Apeman gigs into advisement. Instead of doing a "Binaural Live" mix, I'll probably do a 40-or-so-song mix that has all they Binaural tracks in it - as opposed to the Seattle mix I was working on that is missing both "Of The Girl" and "Thin Air" amongst a few others.

Yes indeed I noticed that "In My Tree" wasn't played in Europe. Too bad no "Glorified G" at all on that tour...and why so little love for "WMA?" I love it.

I know.Theres great versions from the short 2008 N.American gigs of WMA.

Ill list a bunch of songs today, mostly from the European leg, that I think are the best versions of the songs.
