    This is hilarious!

  7. That's right, Ed. I gotta pace myself!

I can't believe the number of times that I'm about to listen to "Marker in the Sand" and "Unemployable!" Ugh. Heck, I just may begin to hate "Severed Hand" and "World Wide Suicide!"

    Hope not.
  8. I doubt it..those are solid tunes..its the average/to below average tunes that get me.

Unemployable,Marker,Supersonic,Got Some..I cant listen to them anymore....and it seems they are on every boot from 2006- present...

  11. finally back from Albany hehe

2006-05-12 Albany, NY - Pepsi Arena

With the usual notes of Master-Slave over the PA PJ cross the border, 3rd gig of the tour and 3rd opening. After the classic way of releasing emotions of T.O. N2, they go back throwing new songs since the first moments.
Boom starts the show with his B3 introducing Eddie sweetly singing the verses of Wasted Reprise. I always love this few notes and lyrics that makes way for another tune. This time what seems its natural sequel Life Wasted, little uncertain onset by Stoney; he seems like he were not ready yet.
World Wide Suicide, Severed Hand to complete the, by now, usual pack of 3 songs. Nice they put them out in another different order compared to the previous dates. Very little thing some other band should learn to avoid photocopies concerts, a bit at least … each reference is NOT accidental hehe.

Evolution comes next giving another little demonstration of what stated above. It raises from the encore to close the first rocking set early in the show.
of the songs played till now, I haven’t found anything in particular to say; quite anonymous performances of each. Nothing bad but it seems to me the band is going with the handbrake pulled.

Impression confirmed by Small Town .. a good test in this song is the “I just wanna scream … hello” part .. very restrained here. Eddie seems to hold back his voice not forcing it like he knows to do.
Almost the same thing when they’re a strange spot in the sky human beings that were Given to Fly. Great great classic song, lovely arpeggio and all but this time it doesn’t fly to its top level.
Very nice entry next with a not-so-often-played Red Mosquito; little crack at one point by Eddie’s voice .. giving evidence that he’s not forcing due to some kind of throat problem maybe,
Mike counting 1-2-3-4 to introduce what is one of his spotlights -> Even Flow; last night it was simply great, this time it flows without any particular tremor.

Army Reserve debuts at this point .. I like the groove of this song, Jeff made a great job for this song; good first performance with a cool Boom near the end and a very nice job by Stone and Matt on backing vocals .. “I love Matt Cameron” said Stoney a while before and I 100% agree with him hehe.
Daughter goes away in line with the trend of this show .. Eddie trying to involve a little more the audience with the Another Brick tag but nothing spectacular sorts out.

Eddie launches the first chords of Off He Goes .. always a certain dreaming atmosphere all over the number for me; I’d say it emerges from the standard of the show; loved Mike’s pinches.
other number and other debut, aside of the pre-tour appearances, Gone. I likeit quite a lot and nice version this one. Soon Grievance is thrown and Eddie shows once again that his voice is not in top form; he doesn’t tackle the lyrics, stops the verses and so on.
Pretty the same for Jeremy even though it’s always a huge pleasure listening to any version. Love it as it comes.

Of course it cannot be Marker in the Sand to mark a u-turn for the show and of course it doesn’t.
Comatose and Why Go are a double punch to close the main set and both need other kind of strength on them .. Stone, Jeff and Matt did quite good over Why Go anyway.

Eddie retuns on stage for the 1st encore doing a very nice cover of the great Beatles song Hide Your Love Away that will become a stable during his solo tours.
I had to wait almost 20 songs and second encore for a Vitalogy number and .. wait .. it’s not Better Man? Cool!!!! Hehe … Last Exit? Black Circle? Nooo .. it’s Satan’s Bed .. I really love these bad boys doing this kind of things 
The list of wishes then and Eddie seems to forget some .. one of those of someone is to have Rats in the Porch.. the rats don’t come out so often, on the contrary .. first time with Matt like Eddie said? I’m pretty sure they did it back in 1998 when he joined touring with the band. Anyway it’s been for sure since a while and you can see it from the false start of the song hehe.
Coming to Porch I’m not completely agree with Ed this time  .. it’s a veeery long jam yes true, but I love the Mike and Stoney rave all over Albany and impressive Matt covering them

Second encore starts in the same way of the first one .. meaning with a cover even though definetaly more PJish than the other .. Last Kiss .. easy song that don’t bother me when they play it but I wouldn’t miss it anyway. Different drumkit used here.
Come Back pretty nice but, like I said, it lacks that special deep passion when performed in particular days/events.

Very cool start for Sad with the riff hint before the 1-2 count; Mike seems to experiment some special effects in there, aside of that better having been sad in Toronto.
Sad-Crazy Mary-Alive could easily be a first part of an encore, but no they shift them to close the show. I sincerely don’t like that much Alive as last song even though it has its why(s). however it shows, if it were necessary, once again how awesome they are.. they try and do everything they want as it should always be at a rock concert.

In conclusion I’ve found it a sub-standard PJ gig with a couple of “surprise” here and there; not a wonderful setlist and songs played without that something extra they easily can put.

Highlights: Off he Goes - Porch - Army Reserve – Satan’s Bed

    Rating: 3- (or 2 1/2 maybe)
  12. would you mind if i copy and save each review and keep trace of the rankings in a sort of report?
