Matt,I was upgraded to GA at the DMB concert in Dec,at the Barclays Center in Bklyn.I was given a singled GA ticket,by some guy,as I was online in the local Starbucks. My friends had seats in Sec.13.I went in alone, moved up to just about the 3rd row,and wound up talking to a lot of cool people over the course of the evening.I had a great time, and met up with friends after.I would have gone alone to the show,if I had originally scored that single GA days before....
Try to score a GA ticket....you can move around, and pick out some cool people to hang with.I would deff go alone.....I get along great with myself....LOL.
Tell your wife your meeting people from the 10 Club.
As far as the Detroit gig,it isn't easy for me to even rate shows past 2000,for the simple reason that the gigs are deluted with sub par tunes, from weak releases like Riot Act,PJ and Backspacer.
So when I find a show like Grand Rapids or Auburn Hills,I give it a very high ratting. The performance by the band, at both shows mentioned, was amazing.Yes,9 songs off PJ is too much in 1 show, but the great tunes like Long Road,Jeremy ,Animal,Corduroy etc in the main set, made me overlook some of the weaker tunes played, like Marker,Army or Insignificant.
And Comatose had no business being played during that encore....early in the main set,fine..but c'mon...during encore 2 ??
Ive made the mistake of not going because of the same reason. When you see the setlist and hear the boot youll most likely kick yourself for not going...just as i did!!
